NSW Liberal Leader Peter Debnam said today the Premier must step in and close the injecting room and use these scarce funds for the treatment of drug addicts.
"It's time for the Premier to close the Kings Cross Injecting Room and tell us all whether Labor plans to open more injecting rooms in other suburbs," Mr Debnam said.

"The taxpayer-funded shooting gallery has been a misguided experiment from day one," he said.
"The whole concept of a taxpayer-funded shooting gallery defied common sense.
"The suggestion there's a safe way to take drugs is simply wrong.
"The funding should be used for treatment programs to help addicts get off drugs, not to help them continue to take drugs.
"The mere existence of the taxpayer-funded injecting room sends a strong pro-drug message to the young people of NSW.
"NSW has the worst drug problem of any state – not just heroin, but pill-popping and snorting.
"The Premier needs show leadership on this issue and close the injecting room down.
"The Government can't send mixed messages on drugs – it's deadly," Mr Debnam said.
