Peter Debnam MP
NSW Liberal Leader
NSW Liberal Leader Peter Debnam said today the Iemma Labor Government needed to rise from its paralysis and just get on with installing flashing lights in schools zones.
"Premier Iemma and Minister Roozendaal must understand they are dealing with the safety of our children," Mr Debnam said.

"Flashing lights are a practical way of slowing down speeding drivers in school zones," he said.
"Why is Morris Iemma delaying the installation of these lights? For goodness sake, can he just get on and install them.
"Premier Iemma should announce this afternoon he will match my policy to install flashing lights in school zones across the state as a priority.
"How many more children have to be exposed to injury or death while Morris Iemma dithers and delays on school safety?
"Evidence from South Australia, Queensland and Victoria all show flashing lights have been effective in reducing child pedestrian injuries and the data released by Carl Scully from the NSW trial show a reduction in vehicle speeds.
"Over the last three years, RTA statistics show 21 pedestrians aged between 0 and 16 were killed on NSW roads, and a further 1,458 were injured.
"I just hope and pray no child is seriously injured in a school zone incident while the Labor Government dithers.
"While any discussion about road safety is useful, what the community wants is action and the key is delivering flashing lights for school zones as a matter of urgency," Mr Debnam said.
