Ann Taylor (30 January 1782 - 20 December 1866) was an English poet and literary critic. In her youth she was a writer of verse for children, for which she achieved long-lasting popularity. In the years immediately preceding her marriage, she became an astringent literary critic of growing reputation. She is, however, best remembered as the elder sister and collaborator of Jane Taylor.
Bring me a garland, bring me a wreath;
Bring me a flower from the dank stream side;
Bring me a herb smelling sweetly of death,
Wet with the drowsy tide.
Haste to the pool with the green-weed breast,
Where the dark wave crawls through the sedge;
Where the bittern of the wilderness builds her nest,
In the flags of its oozy edge;
Where no sun shines through the live-long day,
Because of the blue-wreathed mist,
Where the cockatrice creeps her foul egg to lay,
And the speckled snake has hissed:
And bring me the flag that is moist with the wave,
And the rush where the heath-winds sigh,
And the hemlock plant, that flourishes so brave,
And the poppy, with its coal-black eye;
And weave them tightly, and weave them well,
The fever of my head to allay;–
And soon shall I faint with the death-weed smell,
And sleep these throbbings away.
And my hot, hot heart, that is fluttering so fast,
Shall shudder with a strange, cold thrill;
And the damp hand of Death o'er my forehead shall be passed,
And my lips shall be stiff and still.
And crystals of ice on my bosom shall arise,
Prest out from the shivering pore;
And oft shall it struggle with pent-up sighs,
But soon it shall struggle no more.
For the poppy on my head shall her cool breath shed,
And wind through the blue, blue tide;
And the bony wand of Death shall draw my last breath,
All by the dark stream side.

I came to Dandenong in 2016 from Hallam. While in Hallam I'd the bad luck to share accommodation with an ice addict who did property damage after being arrested by police. I approached the office of Gabrielle Williams, who was away on 'study leave' touring the world for her electorate. The office said they couldn't help me, and advised me not to speak with the federal office (also ALP) as they were too busy with their shadow attorney general portfolio. One night over Easter, on Afghan New Years, one of my flatmates, an ice addict, threatened to kill me and broke my door, and lock, over ten hours. I called emergency police at 10pm and they arrived at about 6am. My landlord (Afghan) had waited outside for police to arrive since the emergency call. When police arrived they told my Landlord to go away, saying he was the problem. The responding officer asked me "When he didn't kill you in the first hour, why did you keep calling us?" As a MP, I would seek to remove restrictions and red tape from police. They were unable to arrest the ice addict because he was known to them for other things. They allowed him the long weekend to trash the joint before using SWAT to arrest him. Then they released him and allowed him to break and enter the premises for the next fortnight.
In Education in Victoria, an aspirational area dear to the hearts of most constituents in Dandenong, Dan Andrews has compromised standards. The budget is high and so poor educational standards are expensive. Matthew Guy has plans to address Educational standards (as well as crime). One thing Guy has promised to do is end the Safe Schools program and replace it with a real anti bullying program. I oppose any anti bullying program mandated across the state in preference to whole school approaches. I would prefer the whole school approach to be a focus on teaching and learning, which costs less than an expensive program that is state wide. Student literacy is very important and for the younger years I'd expand budgets for literacy essentials like picture story books. I must note here that I recently did paid work for Learning Discovery, which is a Dandenong based picture story book retailer who sells books at wholesale prices. Dandenong Library is poorly stocked and does not meet certain educational needs, being unable to source basic textbooks for mathematics, or generalised history texts. It is true that the library is more of a local government issue, but then local government councillors tell me they believe AGW means they can declare Dandenong overdeveloped.
Employment in Dandenong is not as high as it could be. Red tape restrictions prevent trade and restricts employment in Dandenong. Some of that is local council, but state government can do much to improve things. Cutting waste and expenses and allowing business to trade profitably is my goal and aspiration for Dandenong with me in parliament.
The Irish PM is gay and supportive of their recent changes to abortion laws in Ireland. He recently was criticised unfairly for saying that catholic hospitals in Ireland would be required to carry out the procedure in appropriate circumstances. I do not support indiscriminate applications of abortion, but stand for it being a necessary life saving procedure in limited circumstances. The gender choices of the Irish PM are their own and they are welcome to them.
Another FB Meme has Zuckerberg compared with Assange over data freedoms and conflating them with Assange hiding in an Ecuador embassy in London. Zuckerberg is a family man and not one who was wanted in Sweden for serially breaking condoms while having consensual sex with multiple women at separate times. Assange has been behind riots around the world by inciting them through Wikileaks, but has not been threatened with jail for his activity.
In 1179, the Norwegian Battle of Kalvskinnet outside Nidaros. Earl Erling Skakke was killed, and the battle changed the tide of the civil wars. Skakke was Norman and had been hit in the neck in battle by a Saracen in Sicily. This meant he had a lean for the rest of his life, Skakke means 'slanted.' Skakke installed his son as king of Norway and fought against ruthless enemies. He was a ruthless man. He founded Halsnøy Abbey, a monastery in 1164. 1269, King Louis IX of France ordered all Jews found in public without an identifying yellow badge to be fined ten livres of silver. Louis IX is venerated as a saint, but he inspired Nazis to greater excess with this act. Within a year, Louis was dead from dysentary in the holy lands on crusade which this tax helped pay for. 1306, The Earl of Pembroke's army defeated Bruce's Scottish army at the Battle of Methven. Robert the Bruce had taken Pembroke's word and not defended his position. Robert just escaped with his life, fled to Ireland and raised an army which captured Scotland for Scotland. 1586, English colonists left Roanoke Island, after failing to establish England's first permanent settlement in North America.
In 1816, Battle of Seven Oaks between North West Company and Hudson's Bay Company, near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. 1821, Decisive defeat of the Filiki Eteria by the Ottomans at Drăgășani (in Wallachia). 1846, the first officially recorded, organised baseball game was played under Alexander Cartwright's rules on Hoboken, New Jersey's Elysian Fields with the New York Base Ball Club defeating the Knickerbockers 23-1. Cartwright umpired. 1862, the U.S. Congress prohibited slavery in United States territories, nullifying Dred Scott v. Sandford. 1865, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, slaves in Galveston, Texas, United States, were finally informed of their freedom. The anniversary is still officially celebrated in Texas and 41 other contiguous states as Juneteenth. 1867, Maximilian I of the Second Mexican Empire was executed by a firing squad in Querétaro, Querétaro. Maximilian had been betrayed by Napoleon III who sent him to be Emperor of Mexico but left him after he was committed and engaged in hostility. 1875, the Herzegovinian rebellion against the Ottoman Empire began.
For some, at the moment, the Sex Party has more credibility.
A domestic terrorist attack in the US has seen a young white supremacist kill people at a church, telling a survivor it was because black people were raping white girls. All the victims were middle aged or old, mainly female. The accusation is clearly not the real motive. On being captured by police, the white supremacist has allegedly claimed he wanted to start a civil war. One hopes that the white supremacist never enjoys freedom again. It is really important that the 'brains' behind the idiot are never again allowed to foment such hatred. But, who has those brains? Who is it that that raised the white supremacist? Who is it that claimed that there is a war between blacks and whites? Who is it that made indiscriminate killing acceptable as a statement? White church attendees? White atheists? University professors with trans race issues? Media inflating claims of race issues? The President raising race issues which had been dormant?
Pope Francis has released a report which the media will embrace and sideline at the same time. The fact that a tax or Carbon trade won't address the issue of climate change effectively will be ignored by the press. The press are very impressed with the empty statement that rich nations are to blame for anthropogenic global warming (AGW). If it ever becomes a problem, rich nations will be the solution too.
Julian Assange, running from a charge of being an incompetent penis, ran to an embassy on this day in 2012, substantiating allegations his lies had killed people around the world for which he also feared extradition to the United States. Is there sufficient, now, to suggest Assange has dual citizenship?
Even so, the legislation the High Court panned is not the conservative one, but the ALP vision put in place of a conservative one. The ALP have a shameful history of bad legislation which achieves little. It is often different from the conservative variety, but weaker too. The Gillard Pacific Solution was terrible. The tax on mining, tax on carbon, one which raises no money and the other raises prices for the poorest.
Modern education is based on medieval religious instruction .. they fit. Scripture does not force students to choose. Anecdotally, some students choose not to be religious having experienced it. It is important for many students raised in religious households. It is wrong to deny many to satisfy a few activists. There are many programs that could be threatened if scripture is struck down.

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.
Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?
January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
