Thu 2nd September 2021 Current Affairs

Intro to Locals.com
My name is David Daniel Ball I'm a teacher with three decades experience teaching math to high school kids.I also work with first graders and kids in between first grade and high school. I know the legends of why Hypatia's dad is remembered through his contribution to Math theory. And I know the legend of why followers of Godel had thought he had disproved God's existence.

I'm not a preacher, but I am a Christian who has written over 28 books all of which include some reference to my faith. Twelve blog books on world history and current affairs, detailing world events , births and marriages on each day of the year, organised by month. Twelve books on the background to and history of Bible Quotes. One Bible quote per day for a year. An intro to a science fiction series I'm planning, post apocalyptic cyber punk. An autobiography with short story collections.

I'm known in Australia for my failure as a whistleblower over the negligence death of a school boy. I had reported the issue responsibly and had not known I'd blown the whistle. The embarrassed left wing government had responded by imposition of a nationwide ban on the use of peanut butter in canteens, despite failing to address the issue of peanut allergy appropriately.

I've been de-platformed on Facebook and twitter despite not being an activist. Twitter did not like me asking for Obama to face justice in 2011. FB gave no specific reason for removing me following Jan 6th 2021 in Washington DC where a policeman killed an unarmed woman, so a crowd would know he was in control.

Editorial on Covid policy failure
It is apparent COVID policy is political, not health related. However health advice has been political and not health related. Public health has been corrupted. Media has failed. Judiciary is corrupt. Defence is incompetent. The thin blue line has been cut. And, elder abuse is apparent from the Presidential office through to the ordinary NYC retirement home. On the plus side, there is an emerging possibility of an empty gesture securing the white house for womyn on behalf of one raised in Canada.

Dan Andrews' lockdown has cancelled AA meetings. Go the beers. Playgrounds have been shut down state wide and even a curfew has been re-imposed. There is no science showing any such measure addresses COVID, but we know it allows the government to assert authority.

Editorial Biden's Afghan failure culminated from Obama's Afghan lies

Afghanistan is in flames as Biden begins bombing runs on terrorists as he seeks to negotiate with them. US soldiers have been killed after a strategic error left an exposed airport the only means of Americans and their allies to flee. Biden says those that remained behind wanted to, after fleeing Afghans clinging to a wing and fuselage of an aircraft plummet to their deaths. After Biden had said the Afghan government would stand following US withdrawal. US left behind billions of dollars of weapons Chicago gangs look on with shock and awe. The Taliban will not use a fleet of Blackhawk helicopters. China will.

So who is responsible for the failure? According to Biden, the buck stops with him, and he views it as a Dunkirk like success, when he is not looking at his watch waiting for mourning to end of soldiers that died in his service. Biden also feels any mistake was made by Donald Trump as NK begins nuclear weapons work. The US military have included critical junior officers in their lists of personal pronouns for enemies. What is a personal pronoun for a failed President?

Editorial on God In answer to Dinesh Dsousa's article
The God the atheists refute is not real, but is a ridiculous, impossible figure. God is real. God as He is revealed in the Bible is a fact. However, as ridiculous as the atheists arguments are, they are instructive. God made a bridge He could not cross (man's rejection of Him). God bridged that gap with Jesus. Thing is, atheists don't believe that that gap is real.

In my Sermon on a Miracle I describe how God gave a childless woman who could not bear children, prayed for children, family. He did that. And he did not use supernatural measures.

God is real. God does the impossible. God is not subject to our demands. God answers prayer. Sometimes bad people prosper for a time. All those statements are true.

God is worthy of praise. Atheists don't see it, but they have countless examples of it, from their own lives to the works of those they admire. In the Revelations of the Holy Spirit I underscore and outline some of what God does that even atheists call for.

We need god, but even in a world without God, there is a need for Him.

From the Bible, 1 Corinthians 12

Concerning Spiritual Gifts

Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

Unity and Diversity in the Body

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

Love Is Indispensable

And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

Here is a video I made Can't help (falling in love with you)
"Can't Help Falling in Love", by George Weiss, Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore, is a pop song based on "Plaisir d'amour" by Jean Paul Egide Martini. It was adapted for inclusion in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii, starring Elvis Presley. During the following four decades, it went on to be covered by numerous artists, most notably by the British reggae group UB40, whose 1993 version topped the U.S. and UK Singles charts. To this day it remains the anthem of many football and Rugby League clubs, Including Hull City FC Sunderland A.F.C and Huddersfield Giants.

Scott Morrison deserves a chance as PM. Rumours that Scott Morrison set up Dutton are being spread by a journalist that doesn't believe Turnbull was awful and needed to be removed for Liberals to be able to prosecute good governance. Anyone with political sense could see that Turnbull's "Brilliant and crazy like a wolf" type of being very close to ALP policy was going to backfire badly. ALP members don't like some of those policies! By being close to ALP on issues like gender dysphoria and AGW, Turnbull was denying political choice to Liberal constituents, a million of whom had left the party at the last federal election. Maybe Morrison 'tricked' Dutton into running against Turnbull. More likely, Dutton would have been assured Abbott would support him and the job needed to be done. Turnbull was clearly delaying proceedings for Morrison after his position became untenable. Morrison is not Turnbull's pick, as Turnbull cares only about himself. Morrison is his own man, but a group of bedwetters preferred Morrison to Dutton. But the public will deal with the bedwetters.

A bloody Collingwood brawl with some two hundred running amok had police in numbers the other morning. No arrests were made. The accusation was made that Victoria had a 'no arrest' policy. on 3AW, the Police Minister clarified. 'Sufficient numbers of police were present' during the riot. However, were they to have arrested anyone, then a police person would be taken from the front line, so operations decided not to arrest anyone. This is a Minister who has not recused themselves from investigation regarding their participation in the Red Shirt Rort. Under what circumstances during the riot would police numbers have been deemed insufficient?

In n Out Burger controversy after they back both sides, but Democrats call for people to ban them for giving GOP money. Apparently Democrats like to spend other people's money. Get yourself a top quality burger from In n Out.

DNC abandons rule on gender parity to accommodate non binary members. Canada fails to agree on free trade. Why do Corbyn and Trudeau seem to hate Jews? Why does Trudeau seem to hate Canada making money?

Wikileaks has released the names of six GOP who were bribed by Hillary Clinton to oppose Trump as a candidate and incumbent President. They are Jeb Bush, John McCain, Carly Fiorina, Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham and John Kasich. Remember the GOP guy saying if Trump was made GOP candidate, and he supported it, he could not look his fifteen year old daughter in the eye? Can he look her in the eye now, knowing he was paid by Hillary to support Dems?

From my article on Quora
What is your least favorite planet in the solar system besides Earth and why?
Gaia gets upset when people play favourites. This is reputed to cause AGW and earthquakes, but I don’t believe that. My Earth centric vision leads me to express the view that Mercury is the least desirable real estate. We can’t mine it, can’t settle it and can’t really study from it. Still, if I was dictator for life, I would stop capital punishment and maroon those who serve life sentences there. Because I believe people can reform. And I’m humanitarian.

A daily column on what the ALP have as a policy, supported by a local member, and how it has 'helped' the local community. I'll stop if I cannot identify a policy. Feel free to make suggestions. Contact me on FB, not twitter. I have twitter, but never look at it.

Gabrielle Williams was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers, working with the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing and the Minister for Families and Children. Williams was given those titles when elected in 2014. It is difficult to find what value she has been to Dandenong, but clearly the ALP see her as the future. The ALP has backed AGW hysteria and the cost of funding renewables drives up prices. So Dandenong businesses are suffering from these high prices. Williams has announced the ALP is subsidising one Dandenong business paying the astronomically high power costs for one year. The business had to fill out a lot of paperwork to get the award. Many who applied missed out. A timber business whose annual costs exceed $20k will get $10k. Probably, the cost without AGW hysteria was even less than what it is with subsidy. Slow handclap. I would like to know how much power bills have gone up for individuals or business since Kennett lost election. Please let me know how you are going, and I'm open to suggestions for helping. My thought is to halt subsidies on renewables and help the market correct to black coal and natural gas.

As part of the November 24th Vic election campaign I have a petition I want to bring before the Opposition Leader Matthew Guy. I believe Matthew will be the next premier of Victoria and so I am petitioning him as I raise the issues of Employment, Crime and Education in Dandenong. I am also seeking money for my campaign. I don't have party resources, and so my campaign is on foot, and on the internet. Any money I receive that is not spent on the campaign will go to Grow 4 Life. I am asking questions like "What do you love about Dandenong?" and "If you could change something in Dandenong to make it better, what would it be?" I'm not limiting the questions to state issues. I'm happy to discuss anything, and get things done.

Some things should not happen, but they do. Threats made against Andrew Bolt prove the claim that the activist campaign for the 'Yes' vote for gay marriage has crossed the border of civility. Yes campaigners are not merely lying, they employ law-fare and physical threats some of which get carried out. Yes campaigners have filmed themselves breaking the law vandalising 'No' campaign signs. Yes campaigners had an Andrew Bolt article temporarily withdrawn on legal advice. The article had been about the abuse of some women who supported the 'no' campaign. Yes campaigners got a 'No' campaign advert removed which supported father's Day. Any responsible, fair minded person should vote 'no' on principle.

The ALP limited the intervention into dysfunctional Aboriginal communities and people are suffering as a result. Crimes against children should never accepted. So why do the ALP condone it? "a police operation that has identified 184 child-sex victims in and near the town that is home to just 1410 people. So far police have charged 36 men, and they have 124 suspects."

Michelle Grattan's bad judgement prevents her from admitting what she conclusively proves, that Tony Abbott is the only person who can lead the Liberal Party and heal it

The full ramification from Thursday night's parliamentary coup has been shown. Press have not cottoned onto it yet. It is a bad look for Turnbull, who will face more humiliation before he resigns. The government chief of parliamentary business, Pyne, was asleep with his eyes open. Yesterday, Derryn Hinch had been tweeting about sleeping in a quiet moment. But Pyne showed few signs of it, as he gave permission for some members to leave early to get home. Thing is Parliament finished on Thursday, so they had all Friday anyway. Also, Parliament does not meet very often. Maybe Julie Bishop needed to get back to Perth? I'm told Canberra is not in the centre of Australia. Maybe when Turnbull resigns, Bishop can stay at home? At least Turnbull's office spoke to members who needed time off. Credln was too focused on important issues to ever do that. Pyne is in charge of over $50 billion of contract defence building his back yard. He was probably preoccupied with thoughts of home too. People might be curious as to Shorten's choice of legislation to harm Australia. The answer is simply because it was 'shovel ready' which is the same code used by Penny Wong to lose $106 billion as finance minister. Senate will pass anything for ALP, but nothing worthwhile. And the members just illustrated why the people would rather a plebiscite on same sex marriage, rather than leave it to those professionals.

For some, at the moment, the Sex Party has more credibility.
=== from 2015 ===
The gayby baby issue is based on hateful misleading assertions. The ABC Catalyst infomercial regarding it spread the lies. A lesbian couple was presented from the UK claiming that their marriage was not recognised in Australia and that it was stated that they could not have children. In fact, their civil union is recognised in Australia as are any children. The argument is that churches should be allowed to refuse giving a marriage certificate based on conscience. And that it is not a natural conception which brings forth the baby in strict religious moral terms. But the babies are real. And if the lobby wish to be taken seriously they shouldn't lie about the issues, but address them. Otherwise any success will never be legitimate.

The ALP have again been offered an opportunity to reform. They haven't done it. But they need to. No one doubts they will one day win federal office. But they are in danger of losing that office through anti corruption laws they transgress.
From 2014
More testimony from ALP former Ministers about corrupt activity from them regarding building development. Good decisions have come from Liberal run government in NSW, although individuals have been compromised by an industry trying to bribe them. But the ALP are seen to have acted corruptly without such bribes. This disparity might be puzzling to the uninitiated, but a simple explanation is that corrupt unions have acted as a go between using slush funds. Slush funds are not deemed to be illegal. So the ALP members have vast resources for corruption that is prima facie legal. Roozendal has admitted he supported a Buildev option on Tripodi's advice despite independent advice saying he shouldn't. That is corrupt. It highlights why the NSW Government is now tentative regarding Coal Seam Gas approval. Responsible government would approve CSG extraction, but government nervous that it could be accused of collusion can't. And so the double standard regarding the courts addressing corruption within politics is explained.

The Greens have an advert that could easily be a federal government one. The ending of the ridiculous Mineral Rent Tax is important for Australia. It had made it expensive to mine relative to the rest of the world. It also didn't raise money. And it costed a lot. Some of the ridiculous costs were ended, but not all, after a deal with PUP. If the ALP wanted better, they should have negotiated. Another big win to Abbott government. What are the Greens trying to achieve? It is apparent that Gillard watered down IR laws so as to foster union corruption, but what do the Greens get out of it?

Australia is punching above her weight when it comes to exporting terrorists to the Middle East. The Anglican Church seems to be on the wrong side of culture in Gosford. We have unions who break IR laws with apparent impunity and hiring people now known to be terrorists. Greens speak out for genocidal maniacs, but that seems to be a broad failing of the left, who excuse genocide in the name of multiculturalism. Meanwhile the federal government is trying her best, and has to compromise on the issue of banning the dole for six months on new recipients who are young. But a delay is a good thing because it limits needless access to welfare, which is hard to remove. But compromise is essential when the Senate is hostile. The ability of PUP to block progress might be limited. It is testimony that one port manager was not supported by the $12 million Palmer claims he spent on that port.

Greens are desperate and there has been no warming now for 19 years, despite a substantial increase in Carbon Dioxide. Now hysterics are preaching to little children that their pets will be killed by AGW monsters. A lovely Maori woman stands with Israel. There are calls to place science teacher specialists in primary schools, which seems a good idea.
From 2013
Obama drew the red line, now he dithers. The master ditherer is thinking about asking Congress for direction. If he decides to Do Something, We will keep You informed. Hundreds of thousands of people have left Syria. About a hundred thousand have been estimated dead from the civil war in the last few years. Obama has done nothing to date about the atrocities. A related observation is the terrorist rocket activity into Israel. Obama has demanded Israel release terrorists and killers back into the community as incentive for other terrorists to sign a peace treaty. So we know Obama doesn't merely dither, he can act too, if not wisely.

In Australia, the polls, which favoured the LNP yesterday 53 to 47, favour the LNP today 54 to 46. At that rate, the actual poll on Saturday will be 59 to 41. This raises the question of why it is that 41% of the nation don't understand how to vote. Rudd is dithering over flying out to the G20 for the last two days and giving the ALP a possible lift in the polls through his absence. It would be Rudd's last junket. Many of his supporters might be feeling he has earned it, and hope he goes soon.

Maybe by repeating the name "Abbott" Rudd will hit upon a magic formula suggesting the Australian voting population should vote for Rudd. It hasn't happened yet. It didn't work for Gillard, but keep trying Kev. Rudd could copy Wikileaks founder Julian Assange's attempt to acquire office. But it hasn't worked for the incompetent penis either. Sending Rudd to the G20, is like sending Rudd to get a mosquito candle, muses Therese. Tim Blair shows Rudd channeling Nixon badly. Rudd has had some good policies lately .. they involve rejecting previous ALP policies he made. There are many hyper critical commentators taking Abbott to task for calling terrorists bad people. Unlike Rudd, who called people, who spoke Chinese Mandarin, Ratfuckers.

Today's Old Testament reading: Psalm 125-136

1 Praise the LORD.

Praise the name of the LORD;
praise him, you servants of the LORD,
2 you who minister in the house of the LORD,
in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.
4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own,
Israel to be his treasured possession.
5 I know that the LORD is great,
that our Lord is greater than all gods.
6 The LORD does whatever pleases him,
in the heavens and on the earth,
in the seas and all their depths.
7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
he sends lightning with the rain
and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

Concerning Spiritual Gifts
1 Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work....

Morning

"Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory."
Psalm 73:24
The Psalmist felt his need of divine guidance. He had just been discovering the foolishness of his own heart, and lest he should be constantly led astray by it, he resolved that God's counsel should henceforth guide him. A sense of our own folly is a great step towards being wise, when it leads us to rely on the wisdom of the Lord. The blind man leans on his friend's arm and reaches home in safety, and so would we give ourselves up implicitly to divine guidance, nothing doubting; assured that though we cannot see, it is always safe to trust the all-seeing God. "Thou shalt," is a blessed expression of confidence. He was sure that the Lord would not decline the condescending task. There is a word for thee, O believer; rest thou in it. Be assured that thy God will be thy counsellor and friend; he shall guide thee; he will direct all thy ways. In his written Word thou hast this assurance in part fulfilled, for holy Scripture is his counsel to thee. Happy are we to have God's Word always to guide us! What were the mariner without his compass? And what were the Christian without the Bible? This is the unerring chart, the map in which every shoal is described, and all the channels from the quicksands of destruction to the haven of salvation mapped and marked by one who knows all the way. Blessed be thou, O God, that we may trust thee to guide us now, and guide us even to the end! After this guidance through life, the Psalmist anticipates a divine reception at last--"and afterward receive me to glory." What a thought for thee, believer! God himself will receive thee to glory--thee! Wandering, erring, straying, yet he will bring thee safe at last to glory! This is thy portion; live on it this day, and if perplexities should surround thee, go in the strength of this text straight to the throne.

Evening

"Trust in him at all times."
Psalm 62:8
Faith is as much the rule of temporal as of spiritual life; we ought to have faith in God for our earthly affairs as well as for our heavenly business. It is only as we learn to trust in God for the supply of all our daily need that we shall live above the world. We are not to be idle, that would show we did not trust in God, who worketh hitherto, but in the devil, who is the father of idleness. We are not to be imprudent or rash; that were to trust chance, and not the living God, who is a God of economy and order. Acting in all prudence and uprightness, we are to rely simply and entirely upon the Lord at all times.

Let me commend to you a life of trust in God in temporal things. Trusting in God, you will not be compelled to mourn because you have used sinful means to grow rich. Serve God with integrity, and if you achieve no success, at least no sin will lie upon your conscience. Trusting God, you will not be guilty of self-contradiction. He who trusts in craft, sails this way today, and that way the next, like a vessel tossed about by the fickle wind; but he that trusteth in the Lord is like a vessel propelled by steam, she cuts through the waves, defies the wind, and makes one bright silvery straightforward track to her destined haven. Be you a man with living principles within; never bow to the varying customs of worldly wisdom. Walk in your path of integrity with steadfast steps, and show that you are invincibly strong in the strength which confidence in God alone can confer. Thus you will be delivered from anxious care, you will not be troubled with evil tidings, your heart will be fixed, trusting in the Lord. How pleasant to float along the stream of providence! There is no more blessed way of living than a life of dependence upon a covenant-keeping God. We have no care, for he careth for us; we have no troubles, because we cast our burdens upon the Lord.

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.

Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?

January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)

Editorials will appear in the "History in a Year by the Conservative Voice" series, starting with August, September, October, or at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/1482020262/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_dVHPub0MQKDZ4 The kindle version is cheaper, but the soft back version allows a free kindle version.
