In the Law it is written:
“With other tongues
and through the lips of foreigners
I will speak to this people,
but even then they will not listen to me,
says the Lord.”
Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers. So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!”
Good Order in Worship
What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.
Or did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

Hysterical news reporting on COVID, masks and medication is not funny.
Why not just report public debate and let adults decide?
Live Science promote this article as proof that masks are effective. Only, the study does not show that. The study shows that masks are effective in densely populated areas of COVID sick, like surgical hospital wards. Not in general community. The skeptics have been saying that it is inappropriate to mandate masks. Not that surgeons should not use masks.

Matthew Guy looks like the next Premier of Victoria and Dan Andrews is increasingly desperate. Andrews has released eighty thousand documents related to the time Matthew Guy was planning minister. The point of the exercise was to smear Guy over the issue of Ventnor, where Guy approved a $3.5 million payout to avoid higher claims. So, by releasing the documents, Andrews hopes someone finds an inconsistency somewhere before the election, or that they get bored of looking, but assume something happened. Instead, a female lawyer has had her personal details made public. The lawyer is looking at suing the irresponsible Premier, who echoes Carmen Lawrence over Penny Easton. It is not known if Andrews is in any way connected with the lawyer yet. For Dan, hatred and disagreement seem similar creatures. Maybe Dan needs a good man's shed?
Nike have messed up backing Colin Kaepernick. CK has sacrificed nothing, maintaining sponsorship while hurting brand NFL.
Bob Woodward's book on Trump has parallels with Watergate. With Watergate, Mark Felt leaked selectively to bring down Nixon. With Trump, Comey has leaked selectively. The FBI is corrupt from the top down. Too many swamp creatures in charge. One swamp creature is former President Obama. President Bush did not campaign against Obama to allow Obama a chance to set an agenda. Obama is not that courteous. The Democrats are acting hysterical now to gain support for the mid terms. I pray it does not work.
There are many national and international measures of Mathematic attainment at all educational institutions. Math is important and prestige is attributed to success at things like the Math Olympiad and various competitions worldwide, and nationally in all nations. I don’t know who is telling you otherwise.
Consider the International Baccalaureate, NAPLAN, The Australian Mathematics Competition, Math Competitions world wide, the NSW HSC, The Victorian VCE etc etc. All have Math as a key learning area or primary pursuit.
Famously, criticism of Ronald Reagan after bad measurement led to a multi billion dollar expenditure on Math and Science in the US. What had been observed was that standards had fallen throughout the seventies, and the finger was pointed at President Reagan. So Reagan got the best advice available and spent big on Physics laboratories in high schools and developing a rigorous math curriculum. However, the fascinating discovery was made (remember, rates don’t add) after the money was spent that although standards had fallen, every single sub category of ethnic and racial classification had registered improvement, including ‘other.’
The reason for the discovery is simple, rates don’t add. The categories were things like Asian ethnic, White American/European, Native American, Hispanic, African and Other. People don’t always fit such demarcations, but regardless, there is a pecking order with Asian and Whites achieving well and I’ll give hypothetical averages to illustrate. Asians increase from 79 to 82, Whites increase from 76 to 80, Native American from 60 to 65, Hispanic from 58 to 62, African from 55 to 62 and other from 65 to 75. The over all average may have fallen from 75 to 70. The reason for the fall was the change of demographics with fewer whites being represented, lowering the over all average.
Gabrielle Williams was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers, working with the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing and the Minister for Families and Children. Williams was given those titles when elected in 2014. It is difficult to find what value she has been to Dandenong, but clearly the ALP see her as the future. It is said, "in a world where the only tool is a hammer, everything resembles a nail." The ALP views on gender are humorous until one sees how their administration deals with them. A million dollars a year is being spent on "Men's Sheds" or safe spaces for men. Williams is proud to announce $60k is being spent on such a place in Rowville. I won't go there, I like to talk to women and men and I tire of monocultures ALP promote. Men are suffering from a number of awful social policies inflicted on them from the ALP and related hangers on. From school achievement to incarceration, men and boys are increasingly disengaged with society. Would a shed address your needs, or the needs of a significant man in your life? Or would they rather have a full time job?
A tram exploded in the middle of Melbourne. Allegedly there are no injuries. Traffic has been diverted for hours. Apparently, power cables collapsed onto a transformer. Kind of routine for Dan Andrews ALP government is chaos.
A Melbourne Catholic school has opposed same sex marriage at plebiscite, and radical Yes activists (Not Steve Howe, Jon Anderson or Rick Wakeman) demand the school not approve bullying. The activists are trying to bully the school.
For some, at the moment, the Sex Party has more credibility.
Meanwhile, #Abbottphobia has many hating Mr Abbott for things he never said or did. But the liars that promote the false memes are often senior journalists. From Riley's "Shit Happens" through to towing boats back to Syria, hating Mr Abbott is cool. It is no way to debate. If the Abbott haters truly believed what they said, they would not need to lie to argue it.
A mother is very upset her daughter was shamed for wearing a skirt that was too short. The parent is right, it is an over reach by the school to get the child to wear a specially marked t shirt and slacks. However, the school community has left the school with little choice. There is no school uniform, only a dress code. Clearly the designated clothing is a compromise. If the mum were really concerned, she would provide the school with appropriate alternatives. Better yet, she would provide her daughter with those alternatives. But such demarcation disputes are rife in society. The ACTU are campaigning to cut wages in favour of superannuation for workers. Thing is, ACTU has control and gets fees and kickbacks from superannuation agencies, while they exploit workers regardless of their pay. The unreality of the situation is mirrored in AGW belief despite all evidence. There is substantially more carbon dioxide now than nineteen years ago, consistently building up, but no heating over that nineteen years. AGW hysteric scientists seem to have reworked data in the labs because of computer models, not because of observation.
There is such thing as hope. Not from a dull watch which probably won't do anything well, but hope on the technology front of a possible cure for Downs Syndrome.
Meanwhile in Australia, the election is due on Saturday. All the polls point to a change of government. Rudd skipped the G20 junket. He is serious about losing this election. In fantasy land, he booted loyal followers from 'Muppett's Corner" in his own electorate. He claims the $40 billion cuts of the LNP won't be responsible or costed. However, the ALP has not costed all its own policies. Further, the LNP had given substantial detail to most for weeks. Still, the ALP attempted a scare campaign which failed when senior public servants corrected Rudd. Still, Rudd is addicted to lies. He falsely claims Murdoch owns 70% of newspapers. He falsely claims the LNP planned $70 billion of cuts. He falsely claims to have responsibly negotiated the GFC. His claims are fact checked, but Rudd parades them at will to any audience.
Rudd claims to be a Christian, and often has himself photographed at a church. Abbott doesn't brag being Christian, but he is, and he acts compassionately and his wisdom seems informed by the Bible. Meanwhile Rudd makes up detail about the Bible .. from claiming it endorses slavery to using it to claim Christians should love the world. He is close. Christians do love the world. Sadly.

Today's Old Testament reading: Psalm 143-145
A psalm of David.
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief.
2 Do not bring your servant into judgment,
for no one living is righteous before you.
3 The enemy pursues me,
he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in the darkness
like those long dead.
4 So my spirit grows faint within me;
my heart within me is dismayed.
5 I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.
6 I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.
Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?
January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
