Editorial on Haiti Assassination and Biden Presidency
Because of corruption involving the Clinton Foundation and Haiti reconstruction, the assassination of Haiti's President by a mercenary team involving US citizens takes on a particular piquancy. It does not mean Biden is behind the assassination, But, what must be of concern to non partisan Americans is the circumstance resulting in the death. To draw a parallel, Australia had had a decade of conservative government leading up to the Rudd Government election in 2007. Rudd promised change based on a pragmatic economic conservative approach he never followed. But, before Rudd penned a schoolboy level essay trumpeting the jettison of economic conservatism, he turned to enlightened foreign policy. Rudd would not tolerate insurrection in Timor led by the separatist Alfredo Reinado. Rudd might not have given tacit permission for friendly black ops to hit Reinado, But, the hit almost claimed the lives of Timor's Prime Minister and President. Following, Timor ties with ALP led Australia were poisoned.

Biden needs a foreign policy win. A strong statement on a nation close to America means a lot for Biden who looks weak and foolish, derided by friends and foes. Who mourns the Haiti strongman? Who mourned Reinado? However, Rudd's bungled foreign policy echoes the Haiti experience. Just like Ukraine's illegal painting of their military aircraft as civilian was never discussed by international media, we may never hear who ordered the hit on the Haiti President, but those involved with the execution will be persecuted. After all, those involved might point the finger, if asked, at .. Biden?

Editorial Trump policy prosecuting legal cases
Trump legal policy appears to be corruptly deprived of standing and provision. How else can one explain the quandary Trump finds himself? It is as if the Democrats own the judicial process and it is up to the voter to rid the US of Democrats in 2022, so that an independent congress and eventually, judiciary, can reassert themselves. There are powerful truths supporting that view, from Hunter Biden's laptop, through Giuliani's slap down by NY judges, The Russian collusion hoax and two fake impeachment trials. But, sometimes, Trump looks like he is deliberately shooting himself in the foot, as with his lawyer's approach to suing Big Tech. It is as if a Trump lawyer is applying a poison pill to the case to sabotage what Trump could pursue legally in better directions.

Why else would Trump lawyers use class action to pursue what Trump can claim as a private citizen? Is it because Trump can lose these cases and better pursue public support for 2022? Can Democrats afford to let Trump win these cases so as to avoid losing the publicity war? Or are Democrats geared to lose regardless?

The corrupt Democrat LBJ stole preselection for Texas from a fellow Democrat in '48. The case went to the Supreme Court which claimed it had no standing as it was a preselection for Democrats, and they were allowed to be corrupt. The federal aspect of any campaign not being decided by Democrats preselecting a thief. It had only been a few years after UK lords had hanged Lord Haw Haw, William Joyce for treason, even though he wasn't English at all, but Irish. The UK Lords had had no standing, but as they say in law, if there aren't double standards, then there are no standards at all. Joyce had had a fake UK passport. I'm sure Barnaby Joyce would understand that such loopholes in citizenship are fraught.

I no longer care for the opinion of judges. I want Trump to have his presidency restored, and for Democrats to be stripped of their party status.

Don't give up on hope. It is a special, sad day for Jews worldwide, an anniversary of the destruction of the Temple twice, once by Romans and once by Babylonians. But for Jews, there is a hope, a promise, that the Temple will be rebuilt, to last. Liberal friends of Israel met in South Caulfield, in a synagog, to look at a way forward. Present were the Rabbi, a Christian missionary, Senator Paterson, Local federal member Tim Wilson, Matthew Guy, a quorum of Liberal Victoria shadow cabinet and about three hundred peoples, including IPA and a former Australian ambassador to Israel. Israel faces existential threats from terrorism, while at the same time providing health care freely to those who hate her. No other nation in the world need face that, and yet be a democracy, and yet have the enmity of the UN. Israel also faces another threat of delegitimisation. This occurs, for example, when press become aware of three terrorists who kill two Israelis, and are killed by Israelis evading arrest. Hamas pays the families of the 'martyrs' money. Press report that Israel killed three young men, or boys, not reporting what they had done, or what actually happened. The result is the world get a skew view of Israel, and view the atrocities committed against her as legitimate, but the defence of her people as illegitimate.

Words have power, and a counter to free speech is the label 'hate speech'. The label can be misapplied censoriously. Facebook has a procedural unfairness where people are blocked for twenty four, or forty eight hours, or even four weeks, for transgressions that have been mislabelled. Facebook claim it is a fault of Artificial Intelligence and it might be. But the artificial intelligence seems anti semitic. I have a picture of a notice given to a friend who was blocked for a day from their social media. Only, they have done nothing wrong. It is labelled as hate speech, but it is loving. It highlights an important issue worthy of discussion. Like, 'it is wonderful to stand up for Israel, but please don't be a missionary and try to take Jewish Children from their families when the children are vulnerable.' Jews don't proselytise as Christians do. Jews raise their families as they like and resent it when missionaries target their children. It is another aspect delegitimising Israel which devout Jews get angry about. If Christian missionaries are keen to do that work, they can convert other peoples who are less refined, more prone to anti social behaviour. In order to protect the identity of the AI victim I have taken a picture of the posting they have shared with me, it is not the actual file. Face book has a problem.

A daily column on what the ALP have as a policy, supported by a local member, and how it has 'helped' the local community. I'll stop if I cannot identify a policy. Feel free to make suggestions. Contact me on FB, not twitter. I have twitter, but never look at it.

Gabrielle Williams was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers, working with the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing and the Minister for Families and Children. Road work for four months has obstructed access to Dandenong Mall. And it will happen again in another ten to fifteen years, so long as council fails to work out a way of maintaining land which has permission for heavy vehicles to traverse, but is paved for commuters. There is a known crime problem in the area, and staff at the local shops that have to get there early in the morning or late in the evening feel intimidated it is so dark. But lighting that is adequate is listed by Greens as light pollution. Worth remembering next time one thinks of voting ALP or Green. Meanwhile in an industrial area in Hallam, and in South Dandenong, there are limited walkways. Often because trucks park on the curbs. Which is related to the issue with Dandenong Mall. But how are commuters supposed to get about without a car? A short walk from Harvey Norman to Vic Roads along Green Rd takes half an hour and involves numerous obstacles. In Hallam a few tutoring colleges are located in the industrial areas without convenient access to public transport. Why zone approval to the businesses without infrastructure? I'm sure council is charging highly for the use of the facilities that aren't there.

As part of
the November 24th Vic election campaign I have a petition I want to bring before the Opposition Leader Matthew Guy. I believe Matthew will be the next premier of Victoria and so I am petitioning him as I raise the issues of Employment, Crime and Education in Dandenong. I am also seeking money for my campaign. I don't have party resources, and so my campaign is on foot, and on the internet. Any money I receive that is not spent on the campaign will go to Grow 4 Life. I am asking questions like "What do you love about Dandenong?" and "If you could change something in Dandenong to make it better, what would it be?" I'm not limiting the questions to state issues. I'm happy to discuss anything, and get things done.

Some things should not happen, but they do. Malcolm Turnbull is not doing everything he can as Prime Minister of Australia to serve the nation. Instead, Malcolm Turnbull is doing all he can to hold onto power. When Malcolm backstabbed Tony Abbott almost two years ago, he set out a series of performance indicators by which he judged backstabbing Tony Abbott was the right course of action. Turnbull has failed every single one of those performance indicators. Turnbull has already told his party they should desert him. And many members are doing just that. But because the party won't give them the option, they are leaving the party. Turnbull is not worth the money he has cost the party in membership. Worse, Turnbull does not have a plan for getting out of the rut he has led the party. Some powerbrokers within the party have opportunistically backed Turnbull and are set to collapse if he goes. There will be a cost in rolling Turnbull. But there will be a bigger cost if Turnbull remains as federal leader of the Liberal party. It is time. Turnbull is a failure.
update .. The release of a poll comparing MT and TA is like the faux campaign MT employed to roll Abbott. The promotion of Dutton to put offside JB and SM suggests MT has been desperate, not good. He is threatening people to hold onto power, not promoting Australian interests. Could you imagine Howard threatening homeowners in this way? It is not about being right, it is about being appropriate and stable government. MT needs to prosecute the case for good economic management. Not call out 'Banana republic' ala Keating. It is not loyal of Liberals to accept mismanagement without question.

In 356 BC, the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, was destroyed by arson. 365, a tsunami devastated the city of Alexandria, Egypt. The tsunami was caused by the Crete earthquake estimated to be 8.0 on the Richter scale. Five thousand people perished in Alexandria, and 45,000 more died outside the city. 1242, Battle of Taillebourg : Louis IX of France put an end to the revolt of his vassals Henry III of England and Hugh X of Lusignan. 1403, Battle of Shrewsbury: King Henry IV of England defeated rebels to the north of the county town of Shropshire, England. 1645, Qing dynasty regent Dorgon issued an edict ordering all Han Chinese men to shave their forehead and braid the rest of their hair into a queue identical to those of the Manchus

In 1904, Louis Rigolly, a Frenchman, became the first man to break the 100 mph (161 km/h) barrier on land. He drove a 15-liter Gobron-Brille in Ostend, Belgium. 1925, Scopes Trial: In Dayton, Tennessee, high school biology teacher John T. Scopes was found guilty of teaching evolution in class and fined $100. Also 1925, Sir Malcolm Campbell, father of Donald Campbell, became the first man to break the 150 mph (241 km/h) land barrier at Pendine Sands in Wales. He drove a Sunbeam at a two-way average speed of 150.33 mph (242 km/h).

In 1944, World War II: Battle of Guam – American troops landed on Guam starting the battle. It would end on August 10. Also 1944, World War II: Claus von Stauffenberg and fellow conspirators were executed in Berlin, Germany, for the July 20 plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. 1959, Elijah Jerry "Pumpsie" Green became the first African-American to play for the Boston Red Sox, the last team to integrate. He came in as a pinch runner for Vic Wertz and stayed in as shortstop in a 2–1 loss to the Chicago White Sox. 1961, Mercury programMercury-Redstone 4 Mission – Gus Grissom piloting Liberty Bell 7 became the second American to go into space (in a suborbital mission).

One of the worst correspondent insiders the White House has had was Helen Thomas. She was highly lauded for being female and breaking ground. She was a confidant of John Mitchell's wife during the Watergate scandal, and was one of many that used insider knowledge to convict Nixon in public opinion, when the real story was how Assistant FBI Director Mark Felt had fabricated evidence to convict Nixon, but failed. Eventually her press organisation was bought out by Moonies, and Thomas joined Hearst newspapers as an opinion writer. She wrote she felt liberated not having to write positively of people she did not like "I censored myself for 50 years when I was a reporter. Now I wake up and ask myself, 'Who do I hate today?'" She hated Israelis, as was evidenced by her asking Press Secretary Ari Fleischer's statements about arms shipments to the terrorists by asking: "Where do the Israelis get their arms?" He responded "There's a difference Helen, and that is --". "What is the difference?", she asked. He responded: "The targeting of innocents through the use of terror, which is a common enemy for Yasir Arafat and for the people of Israel, as well as --". She interrupted him, saying: "Palestinian people are fighting for their land." He responded: "I think that the killing of innocents is a category entirely different. Justifying killing of innocents for land is an argument in support of terrorism." Helen Thomas was ethnically Lebanese, which is no excuse for approving terrorism.

For some, at the moment, the Sex Party has more credibility.

Facing evil is something the civilised world has to do. There is the issue of bigotry which is unacceptable, whether it comes from Christian groups wanting to catch fire, or neo Nazis, or jihadi supporters .. or the socialist left. However, the unremitting bloodthirsty jihadist is an evil that civilisation can never accept and must oppose firmly and resolutely. Against such a foe the police and the army must work together. Let them speak freely, so that we can know who they are. But don't promote them as having reason. Don't give them a narrative suggesting their cause has foundation. Speak reason, and let slip the dogs of war.

Doctors Without Borders perform the same dangerous political stunt, copying Sarah Hanson Young on her mediterranean holiday, where she encouraged economic migrants to risk their lives. Charity such as doctors without borders lose credibility from doing so. The Australian practice of turning back boats and off shore processing is much better at protecting from needless loss of life, but also prevents people from giving money to people smugglers.

Peter Costello, the last competent treasurer before Joe Hockey has called for leadership on tax issues. Costello argues that good policy will not be carried through parliament bilaterally. Central to that fact is that the ALP has not been responsible in recent years, being too close to trade unions who are in turn corrupt. The GST was never bilaterally supported. Australia does not need to raise taxes, but to cut expenses. But maybe the only way to cut taxes and expenses is to change the mix. Hockey has correctly flagged one problem with the GST is that it may not catch international business working through the internet. So that maybe a GST with cut income tax is not the future. But the immediate need for the government is to cut spending. To dump those public servants that do nothing beyond absorbing paycheques. ALP are confusing the debate by saying that poorer are worse off under any changed circumstance. The poor will be much worse off if we fail to cut spending and can no longer fund welfare.

Bronwyn Bishop has repaid flagged expenses that some had expressed concern about. Will opposition leader Shorten do as he demanded? Shorten refuses to answer the question. But the truth is politicians exist to do stunts to sell government and state. They need their expenses to do their jobs. The spending may appear bad, but it is not outrageous. One would let the ALP keep their expenses if they'd only pay back the $400 billion they've misplaced from government.

How many workers has Bill Shorten short changed? His time as leader of the AWU saw Bill Shorten be the bastard boss who charged workers to get cuts in conditions and pay.

Media Watch misleads over many issues, including AGW belief. Their graphs are wrong. Their figures are wrong. They could pay their own salaries and it would not be worth broadcasting their lies.

Australian film funding model doesn't work in Australia or elsewhere. The industry is captured by the left wing of politics and cannot produce shows highlighting the modern world or Australia of the past. Only a rose coloured false reality. In Pennsylvania, one local government has given $500k to a movie guy for 3 DVD's. They must feel short changed. When they get their DVD's, that is.

Humorists call Australian surfer hitting shark away an act of domestic violence. Humorists are funny.
From 2014
Community standards change over time. Some say they evolve. The television series Tudors had Henry VIII saying he wouldn't choose a female very young, he preferred them ripe. But then one of his wives was executed for being promiscuous when she was only nineteen years old. In the sequel to the Three Musketeers, Raoul has fallen in love with a six year old and, ten years later, when she won't commit to him, joins the foreign legion to die in battle. It is true Roman Polanski was not jailed for his rape of a child, but then that does not mean the community approves what he did. But a disturbing event which happened in Afghanistan highlights a glaring difference in cultural values between the Islamic world and the West. A Mullah has raped a 10 yo girl in a mosque. Her family openly considered killing her for honour. The Mullah has offered to marry her. The girl had been hiding in a shelter, and the police turned up to the shelter and have returned her to her family. Such is not an isolated incident in the Islamic world. But it overstates things to say Australia is not subject to ridiculous age inappropriate relationships. Kyle Sandilands seemed to think nothing of asking a young girl of her sexual experiences when she was tethered to a lie detector and her mother was present. Some years ago, a Queensland cop who had been successful was sacked after it came out he had had sex with an underage girl (a 13 yo) .. when he had been twelve years old. But special dispensation for age difference is a joke when it is remembered the leader of the 5t gang had been attending a high school as a fifteen year old when he was probably in his early twenties .. The issue is probably not Islam, but cultural differences. But that is a very fine point.

If you prize Australia's cultural heritage you have to embrace the cultural heritage of Ancient Greece. According to poet Robert Graves, who survived WW1 and went on to write I Claudius and the Greek Myths and Legends, early Greece had queens who were the power base, centred around three goddesses. The first goddess was Hera, cow eyed and wife of Zeus, her eyes would follow him even were he to forget she was watching. Second goddess was the young, mature woman, Aphrodite. More than solely sexual, she was uber desirable and virtuously attainable resulting in fruit of passion, children. The third goddess was Athena, patron of wisdom. Athena is the girl child, prepubescent. She does not know mature love, but she knows everything else. Springing fully formed from Zeus' head, Athena is like well brought up girls, virtuous, opinionated and dictatorial. On a lesser tier is the twin sister of Apollo, Artemis, the Huntress. One of the seven wonders of the world, the temple of Artemis in Ephesus was finished in 550 BC. In 356 BC, an attack by Goths resulted in the destruction of the Temple on this day. Later, Ephesus would probably be the place where the disciple John would write Revelations.

On this day in 365, a tsunami did in Alexandria. In 1403, King Henry IV tamed Shropshire at the Battle of Shrewsbury. In 1645, Chinese men faced bad hair days. In 1865, Wild Bill Hickock had the first western showdown, and won. In 1873, Jesse James and his gang pulled off the first train robbery. In 1902, the first air conditioner is made by Willis Carrier. In 1925, the Scopes trial finished with the teacher fined $100 for teaching evolution. In 1944, Claus Von Stauffenberg was executed for his failed assassination attempt on Hitler. In 1949, US ratified NATO. In 1959, Elijah Green became the first African American to play Major League Baseball for the Red Sox, the last team to integrate. In 1969, Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the moon. In 1972 and 1976, IRA killed people for no reason. In 1973, Mossad made a mistake. It happens. In 1995, China narrowly avoided the censure Russia is experiencing now. In 2007, the last Harry Potter novel was published. Birthdays for Jean Picard (1620), Ernest Hemmingway (1899) and Cat Stevens (1948). We lost Robert Burns 1796) and Basil Rathbone (1967)

Today's Old Testament reading: Psalm 26-28

Of David.

1 Vindicate me, LORD,
for I have led a blameless life;
I have trusted in the LORD
and have not faltered.
2 Test me, LORD, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind;
3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love
and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.
4 I do not sit with the deceitful,
nor do I associate with hypocrites.
5 I abhor the assembly of evildoers
and refuse to sit with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands in innocence,
and go about your altar, LORD,
7 proclaiming aloud your praise
and telling of all your wonderful deeds....

Today's New Testament reading: Acts 22

1 "Brothers and fathers, listen now to my defense."

2 When they heard him speak to them in Aramaic, they became very quiet.
Then Paul said: 3 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors. I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. 4 I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, 5 as the high priest and all the Council can themselves testify. I even obtained letters from them to their associates in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.
6 "About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. 7 I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?'

Morning

"The earnest of our inheritance."
Ephesians 1:14
Oh! what enlightenment, what joys, what consolation, what delight of heart is experienced by that man who has learned to feed on Jesus, and on Jesus alone. Yet the realization which we have of Christ's preciousness is, in this life, imperfect at the best. As an old writer says, "'Tis but a taste!" We have tasted "that the Lord is gracious," but we do not yet know how good and gracious he is, although what we know of his sweetness makes us long for more. We have enjoyed the firstfruits of the Spirit, and they have set us hungering and thirsting for the fulness of the heavenly vintage. We groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption. Here we are like Israel in the wilderness, who had but one cluster from Eshcol, there we shall be in the vineyard. Here we see the manna falling small, like coriander seed, but there shall we eat the bread of heaven and the old corn of the kingdom. We are but beginners now in spiritual education; for although we have learned the first letters of the alphabet, we cannot read words yet, much less can we put sentences together; but as one says, "He that has been in heaven but five minutes, knows more than the general assembly of divines on earth." We have many ungratified desires at present, but soon every wish shall be satisfied; and all our powers shall find the sweetest employment in that eternal world of joy. O Christian, antedate heaven for a few years. Within a very little time thou shalt be rid of all thy trials and thy troubles. Thine eyes now suffused with tears shall weep no longer. Thou shalt gaze in ineffable rapture upon the splendour of him who sits upon the throne. Nay, more, upon his throne shalt thou sit. The triumph of his glory shall be shared by thee; his crown, his joy, his paradise, these shall be thine, and thou shalt be co-heir with him who is the heir of all things.

Evening

"And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor?"
Jeremiah 2:18

By sundry miracles, by divers mercies, by strange deliverances Jehovah had proved himself to be worthy of Israel's trust. Yet they broke down the hedges with which God had enclosed them as a sacred garden; they forsook their own true and living God, and followed after false gods. Constantly did the Lord reprove them for this infatuation, and our text contains one instance of God's expostulating with them, "What hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of the muddy river?"--for so it may be translated. "Why dost thou wander afar and leave thine own cool stream from Lebanon? Why dost thou forsake Jerusalem to turn aside to Noph and to Tahapanes? Why art thou so strangely set on mischief, that thou canst not be content with the good and healthful, but wouldst follow after that which is evil and deceitful?" Is there not here a word of expostulation and warning to the Christian? O true believer, called by grace and washed in the precious blood of Jesus, thou hast tasted of better drink than the muddy river of this world's pleasure can give thee; thou hast had fellowship with Christ; thou hast obtained the joy of seeing Jesus, and leaning thine head upon his bosom. Do the trifles, the songs, the honours, the merriment of this earth content thee after that? Hast thou eaten the bread of angels, and canst thou live on husks? Good Rutherford once said, "I have tasted of Christ's own manna, and it hath put my mouth out of taste for the brown bread of this world's joys." Methinks it should be so with thee. If thou art wandering after the waters of Egypt, O return quickly to the one living fountain: the waters of Sihor may be sweet to the Egyptians, but they will prove only bitterness to thee. What hast thou to do with them? Jesus asks thee this question this evening--what wilt thou answer him?

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.

Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?

January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
