Wed Oct 1st Todays News

It was not a funny joke, but yesterday this column pointed out the accusation that the ARL was governed by women was illustrated by the inability of the ARL to decide who was the best and fairest player over a season. Today, Braith Anasta, nephew to George Piggins who was lock for Souths when they last won a grand final over forty years ago, and a former Bulldog who previously has won a grand final as a Bulldog, said he couldn't pick between the two contestants for 2014. Maybe Jason Clare has at last evidence that chemicals are changing athletes? Another unfunny joke was serial liar Julia Gillard endorsing the doormat Hilary Clinton as Presidential Candidate. Former Australian PM John Howard has demanded Gillard retract and apologise for her slurs over 911. Gillard has accused Mr Howard of using commandos to sex up a security issue. A despicable assertion and verifiable lie.  But the left have a tendency to lie and inflate to change perception. Channel 9 News reported "Did Mr Abbott go too far in banning the burqa? We'll tell you tonight at 6pm." They softened the accusation at the actual newscast, possibly because Mr Abbott did not ban the burqa. Not a funny joke.

What is responsible governance? Media seem confused and teachers have no opinion, so that kids don't know. British Malaya in the '50s has been compared to rape, torture and enslavement of women. UK Had built almost a million houses in communities to limit the jungle incursions from communists. Islamo Fascists of ISIL rape, torture, enslave women and kill people randomly. The UN seem to struggle with knowing which is the better state too. But good governance produces a better state. Had China been a good governor, they would not now be frightened of a fifteen year old boy who has set up a pro democracy movement. Neither rain, nor light is afraid of an umbrella.

Bad governance by scientists is telling too. Not so much in matters of state, but in matters of collection of data. There is a need for an independent review of temperature data. At the moment, AGW hysterics who call themselves scientists are making outrageous claims unsupported by verifiable facts. Meanwhile some politicians in the ACT jokingly fund a play to kill climate deniers. Terrorists are so poor they could only send twenty million dollars to terrorists while collecting benefits meant for the poor. Compare that with good companies maligned by the press who claim they don't pay tax. Companies do pay tax. Lots of it. It helps fund the great lifestyle Australians enjoy.

ABC approves Goulburn jail riot and feels it isn't notable. Prisoners calling 'Allahu Akbar' while rioting are not a traditional part of Islamic culture that ABC needs to protect, but connected with Islamo Fascism that ABC needs to expose. Quentin Dempster blames mental illness on ABC Programming. Sounds right. ABC choose a left wing incompetent to be a regular commentator on federal politics, Paul Bongiorno, who failed when he was boosted by The Bolt Report in 2013.

from 2013
Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott is consistent and has a good record. Yet lies told to the press are coming home to roost .. and the journalists who spread the lies, seeing that the lies have no substance, are now claiming Abbott has changed. Abbott has not changed, the journalists who reported on him claiming he was misogynistic, aggressive, dismissive, thoughtless, and lacking compassion are wrong. One highly lauded liar is Malcolm Farr, political editor of the Daily Telegraph. Farr tweeted today Abbott had taken a softly softly approach to policy direction, but that only obscures the fact that Farr was pro ALP and spread their lies and memes which, now Abbott is PM, is clearly seen to be untrue. Another highly lauded liar is Julia Gillard, who sadly has broken her gift of silence she made to the ALP and claims misogyny has ruined her stewardship as PM. The truth is incompetence on her part prevented Gillard from making a single good decision for the nation's welfare.

Abbott is a conservative, his approach to the issue of global warming is consistent with that. Even if it were the case the hysterical IPCC prognosis of climate change was true, the best way to address it is to maintain a strong industry for the time that a solution is found. One solution Australia should embrace is nuclear power. However, that is at odds with another scare run by the ALP.

In contrast to Abbott there is Obama. Obama is a liar and failure in policy areas. The US debt under Obama has reached $17 trillion US. When the US debt was $6 trillion US under Bush, Obama had said it was a sign of weak leadership. Mr Bush, please, come back. We need a leader like you for the US.

This column welcomes feedback and criticism. The column is not made up but based on the days events and articles which are then placed in the feed. So they may not have an apparent cohesion they would have had were they made up.

For twenty two years I have been responsibly addressing an issue, and I cannot carry on. I am petitioning the Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott to remedy my distress. I leave it up to him if he chooses to address the issue. Regardless of your opinion of conservative government, the issue is pressing. Please sign my petition at https://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/tony-abbott-remedy-the-persecution-of-dd-ball

Mr Ball, I will not sign your petition as it will do no good, but I will share your message and ask as many of friends who read it, to share it also. Let us see if we cannot use the power of the internet to spread the word of these infamous killings. As a father and a former soldier, I cannot, could not, justify ignoring this appalling action by the perpetrators, whoever they may; I thank you Douglas. You are wrong about the petition. Signing it is as worthless and meaningless an act as voting. A stand up guy would know that. - ed

ABC = LEFTY PROZAC

Tim Blair – Wednesday, October 01, 2014 (12:52pm)

The ABC’s Quentin Dempster believes ABC programming is a mental health issue:
Dempster told The Australian last night that using the potential axing of Lateline as a political tactic would be cruel, especially with “mental health week coming up”.
“The futures of hundreds of people, not just the Lateliners, are at stake here,” he said.
Time to deploy the centurions. Below, Dempster addresses a pro-ABC crowd this morning:

Howard demands Gillard fix false claim

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (8:03am)

image
Julia Gillard’s book, My Story, is a litany of poor-me excuses. It also has some wild errors:
JOHN Howard has called on Julia Gillard to correct a “false” claim that he used the September 11 terror attacks to take a “hairy-chested political approach” on asylum-seekers and send SAS troops on to the Norwegian freighter, Tampa.

The former Liberal prime minister wants the former Labor prime minister to correct her book, My Story, released last week, in which she says he used the atmosphere of fear of the “terrorist shock of 9/11” to order military forces to stop asylum-seekers reaching Australia.

In fact, the Tampa episode took place weeks before the September 11 attacks in 2001.
“Any storyline that we somehow played off Tampa or the September 11 attacks against each other is false and I completely reject it,” Mr Howard told The Australian yesterday. “The former prime minister has her chronology wrong and should correct the claims in the book.”

ACT Government donates to “Kill Climate Deniers” project

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (7:49am)

The Left is the natural home of the modern totalitarian - and of all those who feel entitled by their superior morality to act as savages.
How does the ACT Government justify spending taxpayers’ money on a theatre work entitled ”Kill Climate Deniers”?

image
What sane Government donates to a project urging others to kill fellow citizens, even as a “joke”? Are these people mad?
(Via Warwick Hughes and Don Aitkin. Thanks to readers bruce, backseatelvis and handjive.)
UPDATE
The theatre company says it’s not into actual killing, just “exploring” ways to get political change:
“We are not advocating the murder of carbon lobbyists! We are instead seeking to explore the question: What does it take to achieve political change in this society?” the company said.
You know, like killing.
If I were thug enough to write a play with the title “Kill Climate Scientists” would I get a grant? Would the ABC rush to present my defence?
UPDATE
More yes-but-no:
But ArtsACT director David Whitney said the authors had explicitly stated in their application they did not advocate or believe in violence of any kind, including for political reasons.
According to the description on the play’s website, it is about a group of heavily armed eco-activists who break into a major Australian institution and hold the occupants hostage.

It says in the play their demands are an immediate cessation of all carbon emissions and the immediate transformation of the Australian economy away from any reliance on fossil fuels.
“In short, what would it take to actually stop climate change, dead in its tracks? The answer is: guns. And lots of them,” the website reads.

Hong Kong now threatens China’s autocrats

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (7:10am)

Hong Kong protesters deploy the great weapon that China’s authoritarians now fear - the smart phone:
image
One of the great Hong Kong generals China’s authoritarians now fear - 17-year-old Joshua Wong:
image
The skinny, bespectacled 17-year-old is at the forefront of a surging protest movement pushing for the right to democratically elect the region’s next leader.
Mr Wong was among dozens of people arrested on Friday after protesters broke through the forecourt of Hong Kong government’s headquarters…
At 15, Mr Wong came to prominence when his student movement, Scholarism, successfully blocked the introduction of national education in schools which would have required students to develop “an emotional attachment to China”.
“It was a very biased subject because it’s impossible to see the cases of [jailed Nobel Peace Prize laureate] Liu Xiaobo, [dissident artist] Ai Weiwei, and milk scandals and still be proud of our country,” he told the South China Morning Post in a recent interview.
Scholarism and Wong have an online following numbering in the hundreds of thousands.
When he urged his movement to use FireChat – a Bluetooth-based mobile messaging application that can function even when phone networks are overloaded – it got more than 100,000 new sign-ups in Hong Kong in under 24 hours; and had registered 800,000 chat sessions since, The Guardian reported.
China is terrified of this boy and his supporters and fellow protesters:

China’s government has cut off news about Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests to the rest of the country, a clampdown so thorough that no image of the rallies has appeared in state-controlled media…
By contrast, media in semiautonomous Hong Kong have been broadcasting nonstop about the crowds, showing unarmed students fending off tear gas and pepper spray with umbrellas as they call for more representative democracy in the former British colony…
“The authorities see this as a matter of life and death,” said Shanghai-based columnist and independent analyst Zhao Chu. “They don’t see it as a local affair but a fuse that can take down their world."…
The coverage of the Hong Kong protests has been confined in mainland China to TV anchors reading brief statements with no video and text reports with no photos. The reports have mostly mentioned illegal gatherings in Hong Kong and the efforts of authorities to disperse them.
The Hong Kong-based China Media Project counted only nine articles in Chinese newspapers Tuesday about the protests, six of them stemming from a news release by the official Xinhua News Agency saying the protests had hurt Hong Kong’s economy and misquoting a high-profile university administrator as saying students should disperse.
The protests today - China’s National Day and a public holiday - will show which way this movement is going:
What had started off as a student class boycott earlier in the week has snowballed into city-wide protests that have paralyzed large areas in downtown Hong Kong. On Saturday, thousands more students turned out to occupy the area outside government headquarters, and on Sunday the movement spilled out into Hong Kong’s busiest streets, prompting police to use tear gas to disperse crowds. On Monday, tens of thousands of people spread across the city’s main government, business and shopping districts and across Victoria Harbour into Kowloon.
The students “are now local heroes in the eyes of the protesting public. So if they have to go to jail or suffer some way in promotion or access to studies, it will win them even more support,” Suzanne Pepper, an academic at Chinese University of Hong Kong who studies democracy in Hong Kong, said in an emailed response.

Jealousy a lousy reason to scuttle a security shakeup

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (7:06am)

Does jealousy really trump national security?
A move within the Abbott cabinet to establish a homeland security super-ministry drawing together several major departments and functions looks to have been scuttled because senior figures viewed it as an attempt by backers of Immigration Minister Scott Morrison to elevate him to future leader status.
But a watered-down version of the plan could yet come to pass through the creation of a super bureaucrat or “national security tsar” with federal responsibility for co-ordination of all agencies in the field including Australian Federal Police, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, state police and emergency services, Customs and Border Protection, and elements of Defence.

Time to audit the hot records of the warmist Bureau

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (7:00am)

Maurice Newman does not trust the temperature adjustments of the warmist Bureau of Meteorology:
Doctoring data or throwing inquirers off the track to deliver an outcome is unscientific and unacceptable at any time. Yet in climate science there seems to be a culture of toleration. In 2009 John Theon, retired chief of NASA’s Climate Processes Research Program, testified to a US Senate inquiry that “scientists have manipulated the observed data to justify their model results”.
Fast forward to today. This newspaper’s environment editor, Graham Lloyd, ... published details about the Bureau of Meteorology’s data “homogenisation”, the practice that involves the mixing, matching and deletion of temperature records and that seemed to create its own discontinuities…
In response to The Australian’s report, the BoM quietly released a “nothing to see here” summary of the impact of temperature adjustments at 112 locations around Australia with the list of reference stations used for comparison. The stated reasons for homogenisation seem arbitrary. Words like “merge”, “move” and “statistical”, provide little understanding of the thinking behind each decision or the reason stations were chosen. Colonial records are dismissed, notwithstanding the existence of Stevenson screens and the undoubted diligence of record keepers pre-1910. To the layman, the list of so-called “nearby” stations used to homogenise data raise questions of suitability. Is Bathurst jail really an appropriate site to include for homogenising Bourke’s records?
As a member of the World Meteorological Organisation, the BoM is inevitably caught up in global warming politics.... [I]t must first dispel suspicions of a warming bias. The memory of Climategate and its casual approach to celsius conversion, lingers. It should explain why homogenisation consistently turns cooling trends to warming and why pre-1910 records were dropped and, with them, the extreme heatwaves of the Federation drought.
The record is error-ridden. Even to an amateur, the latest information dump prompts more questions than answers. The concerns about Rutherglen raised by Lloyd as to why a 0.35C cooling became a 1.73C warming still have no satisfactory explanation. No supporting documentary evidence, algorithms or methodology have been produced, leaving the unfortunate impression that temperature records were falsified…
Nothing short of a thorough government-funded review and audit, conducted by independent professionals, will do.
It is very important that Senator Simon Birmingham arrange for a truly independent review, and not one managed by the BoM (or CSIRO):
THE Bureau of Meteorology has been ordered to bring forward the creation of a panel of external experts to oversee the national homogenised temperature record, ACORN-SAT.
The federal government will monitor the technical advisory group to ensure it includes respected external scientists and statisticians as recommended by the peer review panel that originally approved the ACORN-SAT methodology.
Simon Birmingham, the parliamentary secretary with responsibility for the weather bureau, said yesterday it had advised that establishment of the oversight panel was “in progress” and due to be completed by next year.
“However, the parliamentary secretary in reviewing the recommendations has brought the completion date forward to the end of 2014,” a spokesman said.
Senator Birmingham would be briefed on the proposed composition of the panel and would “ensure” it had the independence envisaged in the original recommendation, he said.

Forget the victim card

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (6:20am)

Afghan refugee Barat Ali Batoor is right to warn against believing most Muslims condone the extremists. But he still plays that victim card that unfairly - and dangerously - moves the guilt from Islam to Australia:

Many young Muslim people grow up caught between pervasive Western culture and their family ties to Islam, sometimes creating a void in their values system.
That can leave them vulnerable to radicalisation… Perhaps that is what happened to Numan Haider — who incidentally was not a Hazara.
Whatever the case, Australian authorities are right to crack down on those influences… But, on the other side of the ledger, perhaps more needs to be done to engage disaffected youth vulnerable to proponents of violence. Many such youngsters live in disadvantaged areas with high unemployment and possibly see the world and any sense of opportunity passing them by.
Wait. Was Numan Haider, who stabbed and nearly killed two police officers “disavantaged” and living with “high unemployment”, watching “opportunity passing them by”? In fact:
Haider’s father, who is retired, is understood to have held a senior public service job in Afghanistan before the family migrated to Adelaide, then Melbourne.
Abdul Numan Haider was the youngest of three brothers. One of his brothers, aged 23, is studying engineering. The other, aged 20, is studying pharmacy. Abdul Numan Haider completed high school last year and was enrolled in a TAFE course.
The family lived in a big house and even Haider, just 18, apparently had a car:
The men in the family took interest in their cars (as shown by the photograph on the front page showing Haider at the wheel). Haider’s father was said to be a driving instructor.
“They were always in the garage, cleaning it out or fixing the cars,” a neighbour said.
Jobs, education, good home, cars, safety, opportunity, freedom… I really don’t know what more Australia could reasonably have been expected to offer Haider.
Former detective sergeant Tim Priest:
Of course, what would a terrorism-related incident be without some mention somewhere of the youth being “disenfranchised” from mainstream society?
These disenfranchised youth have access to free health, free education, subsidised medicines, public housing and transport. They are free to practise any religion they want, marry whom they want and, if they feel inclined, work for a fair wage and get to live in one of the safest nations on Earth. And did I mention that they also get free legal representation?…

The Islamic community needs to own up to the not so insignificant problems that they have, ask for help and stop playing the victims.
UPDATE
So marginalised and disenfranchised that they’ve got up to $20 million to send to terrorists?
A Lakemba money transfer business owned by the sister and brother-in-law of Sydney terrorist Khaled Sharrouf will be permanently shut down after it failed to convince authorities that millions of dollars sent to the Middle East were not being used to fund terrorism…
Khaled Sharrouf’s sister Damour and her husband Ahmed Alwash had their remittance firm Bisotel Rieh suspended by AUSTRAC on September 16 over concerns it was sending up to $20 million to Turkey and Lebanon to finance terrorism.

Never mind the facts, read the anti-business conclusion

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (6:15am)

Terry McCrann on the phony story that so appealed to the usual media suspects:
THE great distinguishing feature of the Age-ABC-Crikey axis is the breathtaking combination of the most basic stupidity with the raging left-wing mindset and bias.
I doubt though that we have ever seen a more astonishing example of the combination than Monday’s breathless denunciation by The Age and its Sydney Morning Herald clone of Australia’s biggest listed companies for supposedly avoiding tax…

The report’s authors — and more damningly, the reporters and the newspaper that so embarrassingly but maliciously retailed the ludicrous and utterly false assertions — seemed completely unaware, just for starters, of:

- The difference between tax provisions in a company’s accounts and actual tax paid.
- The difference between a company and a trust.
- The basic fact that companies pay tax in the countries in which the profits are earned.
The report from the United Voice union and a collection of charities, unions and churches in the so-called Tax Justice Network simply added up all the pre-tax profits reported by the top 200 listed companies, then added up their stated tax provisions; then divided the first figure by the second to get their “average tax rate”.
Lo and behold, it was 27 per cent against the 30 per cent statutory rate. So the report and the useful idiots at the Age dumped the 3 per cent, adding to a claimed average of $8.4 billion a year over the last 10 years, in the “tax avoidance basket”.
Various broad references were made to nefarious ways companies could avoid tax, suggesting that was the explanation for tax lost to Australia — without the slightest evidence, or even an attempt at analysis, that any of those tactics actually had been applied at any of the companies.

Coal seam gas isn’t a big menace - and is needed

Andrew Bolt October 01 2014 (6:14am)

The anti-coal seam gas movement seems driven by unreason, and the poor could pay:

CHIEF Scientist Professor Mary O’Kane has declared coal seam gas mining in NSW can be “managed” after handing down an independent review into the impact of CSG on human health and the environment…
The report, which supports the safe extraction of CSG, comes only a week after Energy Minister Anthony Roberts imposed a 12-month freeze on all new CSG mining licences in NSW…
“...the Review concluded that the technical challenges and risks posed by the CSG industry can in general be managed,” the report said…
Gas bills increased by 11.2 per cent in July and are expected to spike on the back of a forecast doubling of wholesale gas prices… NSW currently imports 95 per cent of its gas supply. The Narrabri and Gloucester projects, run by Santos and AGL, have the capability of producing up to 65 per cent of the state’s gas needs.

An enormous U.N. report on the scientific data behind global warming was made available Monday, yet it offers little concrete explanation for an earthly oddity: the planet’s climate has hit the pause button.
Since 1998, there has been no significant increase in global average surface temperature, and some areas -- notably the Northern Hemisphere -- have actually cooled. The 2,200-page new Technical Report attributes that to a combination of several factors, including natural variability, reduced heating from the sun and the ocean acting like a “heat sink” to suck up extra warmth in the atmosphere.
One problem with that conclusion, according to some climate scientists, is that the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has limited the hiatus to 10-15 years. Anastasios Tsonis, distinguished professor at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, believes the pause will last much longer than that. He points to repeated periods of warming and cooling in the 20th century.

Israel's "Tamar" oil rig

Lebanon is homing in on Israel's territorial waters, according to a report in Globes.
Official Israeli sources told the newspaper that Lebanon is about to award offshore oil and gas exploration licenses in areas that encroach on Israel's exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
Lebanon published tenders for offshore oil and gas explorationlicenses in early September, in five blocks in its EEZ.
It is a highly provocative act which has the potential to greatly inflame hostilities between the two nations.
“Israeli sources who examined the coordinates found that the area of the southernmost license, Block 9, encroaches on the border that Israel claims for its EEZ,” wrote Globes. “This license is considered attractive with high chances of a major natural gas discovery.”
Israel's Petroleum Commissioner Alexander Varshavsky presented the findings of this review at an international energy conference in Cyprus two weeks ago. He emphasized that Israel has refrained from taking similar steps, and did not award oil and gas exploration licenses in disputed areas.
Adv. David Kornbluth, an expert in national borders, told Globes that Israel could lose its claim to the disputed area unless it takes active steps in response to the Lebanese move.
"Legal practice says that a country that does not respond to such an act is considered as waiving its claim," he said.

Twenty families in a guarded compound in Sana'a - 90 people - are all that remain of Yemen's 2, 500-year-old Jewish communities. Very soon the young will be gone too. Timemagazine reports:

“Jews who lived their entire lives there and resisted the notion of leaving for a long time are going now. It’s time,” says Misha Galperin, the head of international development for the Jewish Agency, adding that the recent airlift was a “clandestine operation” because Yemen and Israel have no diplomatic ties.

Most of the 20 or so families that remain, including Habib’s, live behind the walls of a government compound for expats near the U.S. embassy in Sana‘a called Tourist City, cut off from the rest of society. The elders never leave. Now and again the younger men venture out to sell jewelry at a nearby market.
Reels of razor wire, soldiers and German shepherds make the entrance look like a prison. Inside it is quiet and leafy. With a playground, two ATMs, a restaurant, pharmacy and a bus to shuttle them around the compound, it has the sleepy feel of a retirement community in Florida.

The Jews, who raise goats and chickens on plots of land next to the homes of Russian oil barons and aid workers, rarely leave the compound. Instead they rely on a monthly stipend for food and rent provided by the government.===

An adviser to the Department of Homeland Security — who was recently promoted — is defending his use of the controversial “R4BIA” four-finger salute symbol associated with the Muslim Brotherhood as decor on his Twitter profile, a choice that elicited criticism on Sunday on the social media site and from one Israeli blog.
Mohamed Elibiary, one of 28 members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, insists the symbol is “bigger than” the Muslim Brotherhood and that to him it means “Freedom4All.” In hisTwitter profile, Elibiary describes himself as not only associated with Homeland Security but also as a “proud American” who “hearts” Egypt.

I finally have some faith in the justice system, only just. Occupy Melbourne hippies must now have faith in WORKING FOR A LIVING to pay legal costs.
Jason J-Fo

But in the Federal Court on Tuesday, Justice Tony North did uphold three of eight challenges brought by the protesters.

The Occupy Melbourne group set up camp in the Treasury Gardens in November 2011, and the next month in the Flagstaff Gardens.

Melbourne City Council officers ordered protesters to leave both parks. Those who refused were forcibly removed by police.

The occupation of the parks was meant as a protest against economic inequality, and was part of a worldwide movement that shared similar methods of protest.

Justice North largely dismissed a challenge brought by two members of the Occupy Melbourne group, James Muldoon and Sara Kerrison, against prosecutions brought by the council and police, and supported by the state government.

The two protesters now potentially face a legal bill from Melbourne City Council, Victoria Police and the government amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.>

Western military sources predict an upsurge of tension this week along Israel’s borders with Syria and Lebanon. Moscow, Tehran and Damascus may be planning to embarrass Binyamin Netanyahu when he sits down with President Barack Obama at the White house Monday, Sept. 30, and addresses the UN General Assembly the next day, Oct. 1.
They see an opportunity to push Israel further out in the cold after the Obama administration’s brush-off in his rush to pursue relations with Tehran. Israel is seen as hitting a weak streak as a result of Washington’s cold shoulder and its own lack of military impetus as Netanyahu arrives in America to present Israel’s case to the US President and the international community.
Those sources therefore predict that Russian, Iranian and Syrian strategists may be planning to goad Israel into an ill-judged and badly-timed military response at this moment. They can then fit the Netanyahu government into the frame of the neighborhood warmonger and disrupter of the hopeful US-Russian partnership for solving the Iranian and Syrian chemical weapons issues by diplomacy.
All that needs to be done is to place a shipment of advanced or chemical weapons on the road from Syria to Hizballah in Lebanon to draw forth an Israeli air strike and start a blaze in a highly explosive sector.
The world would then turn round and say that Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani was correct when he defamed Israel in New York last week as the sole cause of Middle East wars in the last 40 years – without encountering a single dissenting voice in America – and the only nation in possession of weapons of mass destruction.
DEBKAfile’s sources report that, although President Obama stated last Friday, Sept. 27,  that he informed  America’s allies, including Israel, of his landmark phone call to Rouhani, the truth is that he has kept Jerusalem in the dark on the contacts he initiated on the Iranian and Syrian issues, although Israel is most vitally affected.
The US-Russian deal for the dismantling of Syria’s chemical arsenal was sprung on Jerusalem from Geneva on Sept. 14 without warning, as were the Washington-Tehran exchanges and understandings on Iran’s nuclear program.
Saturday, Sept. 28, US Secretary John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov repeated their Geneva duo performance by announcing that the UN Security Council had unanimously adopted Resolution 2118 requiring the elimination of Syria’s chemical stockpile.
All the 15 Council members present appreciated that the motion was toothless after the US and Russia had agreed to omit penalties for non-compliance.
The text said: “No party in Syria should use, develop, produce, acquire, stockpile, retain or transfer chemical weapons.” This wording strongly recalls Security Council Resolution 1701 which was enacted seven years ago and banned any transfer of weapons to Hizballah as the aggressor in the Second Lebanese war against Israel.
This ban was never upheld. In fact, the flow of Iranian and Syrian arms shipments to Hizballah increased from that day on, providing the Shiite terrorist organization with one of the most powerful advanced rocket arsenals in the Arab world.

Iran Knows What the West Forgot: Charm is Cheap - Algemeiner

"Moreover, the dynamics of Obama’s diplomatic efforts reveal who’s actually winning: Obama asked Rouhani for a meeting at the UN, only to be rejected.

So the U.S. looks like the eager party here, making it that much easier for Iran to manipulate any eventual talks in its favor.

Indeed, the more the West appears desperate to welcome Rouhani’s new tune, the less incentive Iran has to make any meaningful concessions." - Noah Beck

One might ask, “What are the peaceful “moderate” Muslims doing about the so-called “hijacking? Where is their outcry? Where is their resistance to murder, jihad and anti-Christian and anti-Jewish discrimination?”
Silence.
So, here’s the wrap-up for this past week:
Nairobi, Kenya. At the mall. 68 dead, 175 injured in a slaughter by a group of Islamic radicals who separated the non-Muslims from the Muslims before shooting people dead. Apparently, four of the terrorists are American bred.

Kenyan security forces battle Al Shabaab terrorists in Nairobi mall

Israel was among those who warned Kenya's government of the high risk of an attack before the deadly assault on a Nairobi mall by Islamist terrorists, security sources have told theAFP news agency.
Cabinet ministers and Kenya's army chief had received information warning of a plan to carry out a major attack, the officials told the news agency, confirming an intelligence report leaked in Kenyan newspapers.
"Israel had warned of attacks on their business interests but apart from just being tossed from one office to another, nothing was taken out of the intelligence reports," said one official speaking on condition of anonymity.
On September 21, terrorists with automatic weapons and grenades burst into the upscale Westgate mall in Nairobi in an attack that lasted four days and left at least 67 dead.
It was claimed by Somalia's Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab group as retaliation for Kenya's military presence in Somalia.
The Nation newspaper said the treasury, interior, foreign affairs and defense ministers, as well as the army chief, had been told of an elevated risk.
"Briefs were made to them of increasing threat of terrorism and of plans to launch simultaneous attacks in Nairobi and Mombasa around September 13 and 20, 2013," according to the report quoted in the paper.
The report said that Israel, which has close security ties with Kenya, had warned of plans to attack Israeli property in September.

Madu Odiokwu Pastorvin

YOUR PROBLEMS WILL COME TO PASS THIS MONTH.MY LAST WEEK PREACHING.
It came to pass, not to stay. Many a times for us as Christians we are faced with issues, situations and circumstances that makes us doubt whether all the promises made to us in the bible can actually come to pass. Sometimes we hear a good message and our faith is stirred up within us...faith cometh by hearing..we begin to believe God for greater things. But after a while we begin to lose faith and doubt whether those promises are actually true or if they are only meant for a particular set of people. In fact, some of us actually heard clearly what God wants to do for us but our present circumstance does not in anyway indicate any possibility of manifestation. We are so overwhelmed by the problem that we fail to see the possibility of a solution.

Hannah was in such a situation. She was married to a man called Elkanah who despite his profession of love to Hannah still had another woman, Peninnah (Pearl) to warm his bed. To make matters worse Hannah was barren while her adversary had children...Have you ever been in a situation where it looks like everything is just going wrong for you...you lose your husband, lose your wife, lose your children, lose your home, lose your job and at the point of losing your mind..has anyone ever felt like world is crashing down on them. Bible says that Hannah’s adversary (Peninnah) provoked her sore..An adversary is an opponent, one who stands in your way of progress, hinders you, resist you. In fact that is the devil’s position..who or what is your own Peninnah? Remember Peninnah means pearl and from my understanding of english language pearl is supposed to be beautiful. It is used to decorate or adorn women to enhance their beauty.

Are there not things in your life that are supposed to add colour to your life but have now turned to an adversary? Are there not people who from afar look so wonderful to you but when you get close you find out they are not so so beautiful on the inside. Has God given you a good job and now it seems you’re about to lose that job? Have you had a wonderful wedding only to return to the court later to file for divorce? Peninnah! How do I deal with this pearl that has turn to a shackle. Bible says Hannah wept sore...have you been weeping secretly in your closet? Everytime children are born it reminds Hannah of her own deficiency...what testimonies have you heard and it reminds you of your own impossibilities.

No matter how good intentioned any man may have, they don’t have the solution or the answer to your problem, have your friends in trying to help you offered you a substitute for what you really want? has your family ’organized’ a replacement for what God promised you? People say when the desirable is unavailable then the available becomes the desirable...but I beg to defer, I will not take a substitute for my promise.
Hannah wept before Elkanah but when she discovered that her help cannot come from Elkanah she went to the Source,"GOD" For how long will you let man see your tears? The best you can get from them is sympathy. Take your tears to the one who is able to help you. 1 Samuel 1:12, bible says ’And it came to pass.May God grant you your heart’s desires in Jesus name. 1 Samuel 1:20 ’...it came to pass...’
86 times in the scriptures ’..it came to pass..’ As long as God has said it, it will definitely come to pass in your life in Jesus name,Amen.

Are You Equipped by The Scripture?
Every Scripture is God-breathed...so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work
(2 Timothy 3:16–17, AMP)

God has equipped you with everything you need to fulfill your destiny through His Word. The Scripture tells us that as believers in Jesus Christ, we are anointed. The word “anointing” is the power of God which gives you courage, strength and ability. When you put the Word of God in you, you are receiving that anointing, you are building your faith, and you are being equipped for every good work.Focus on His truth which says you are well able to do what He has called you to do. You can accomplish your goals. You have the ideas, the creativity and talent to be successful. You can overcome every obstacle! You’ve been armed with strength for every battle, and the forces that are with you are greater than the forces that are against you.God bless you.
=
You were not created to be just average, tossed around by life’s circumstances, feeling constrained by negative labels or small thinking. You were created to soar and thrive. Break Out will help you go beyond your barriers, believe bigger and live the life God has for you.Go beyond your barriers in Jesus name,Amen.
=
Pray Along.
Heavenly Father,I thank You for the people who are there to love and support me. Make me aware of opportunities to bless and encourage others. Help me to reflect Your love in everything I say and do. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
=
Try To Encourage Someone to Dream. The Lord had said to Abram, I will bless you and you will be a blessing to others.(Genesis 12:1-2, NLT)

Have you ever worked toward a dream, but felt worn out by the uphill climb? At times like this, you need encouragement–someone to remind you about what it will be like when you get to the finish line. God created us to need each other. You may be facing challenges that you can't overcome on your own; having a friend to walk with you in love can get you through those times. In the same way, you have something to share with others to help them along their journey. God has blessed your life in times of need, and He loves it when you turn that around and start to bless others. You can encourage others in their dreams and cheer them on as they go. When you believe in people, it gives their faith a boost. Your love and acts of kindness may be just what they needed to push on to victory.Encourage someone today and you will be blessed.Amen.

Former accountant Sabirhan Hasanoff, in a courtroom sketch made during sentencing in United States Federal court by Judge Kimba Wood.

To his devastated family and friends, Sabirhan Hasanoff was a source of inspiration, a loving father of three young children, loyal husband and the first to help out anyone in need with advice, cash or moral support.
To US authorities, Hasanoff was an example of the new breed of hidden enemy.
Hasanoff was an al-Qaeda wolf in a business suit.
Raised in Australia, a resident of New York and employee of blue chip accounting firms including KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hasanoff in recent years became radicalised by American cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki, who preyed on successful Muslim men, making them feel guilty about their privileged lives.

"Let us state the truth: if the UN allocated just one-hundredth of the moral outrage it uses against the only democracy in the Middle East, murderous dictators like Assad might have been shamed, isolated and weakened, instead of elevated, celebrated and strengthened as champions of human rights." - UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer, addressing UN Human Rights Council, Sept. 10, 2013.===

The Supreme Court has 'suggested' invalidating a 1950 law that allows the government to seize property in 'east' Jerusalem that has been abandoned by its former owners. The good news is that the court does not want to throw out the thousands of Israeli Jews who live on such properties, finally recognizing the reality that you can't expel people on that kind of scale.
The High Court of Justice issued a recommendation on Tuesday to the state, and to lawyers fighting to undo state confiscations of east Jerusalem land, that the court declare the use of a 1950 law to justify further confiscations unconstitutional.
While some of the petitioners, such as top lawyer Avigdor Feldman, were ready to embrace the recommendation as a long-delayed righting of what they considered decades of injustice, other petitioners, like NGO Adalah’s director Hassan Jabareen and lawyer Souhad Bishara, were dismayed, viewing the suggestion as permanently anchoring in law nearly 50 years of unjust confiscations.
...
The court, presided over by Supreme Court President Asher D. Grunis, asked all of the parties to provide legal opinions on its suggestion to declare the law’s application in east Jerusalem unconstitutional, and to give their own ideas on whether the declaration should take effect only now, or retroactively from a different date.
Only two weeks ago, Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein had announced a major policy reversal in which the government would stop using the 1950 Absentee Property Law to confiscate east Jerusalem properties from Arabs for the benefit of Jews and the state.
The announcement had been designed to avoid this exact eventuality of throwing out the law’s application entirely, but may not have succeeded.

Washington (CNN) -- The U.S. government shut down at 12:01 a.m. ET Tuesday after lawmakers in the House and the Senate could not agree on a spending bill to fund the government.
The two sides bickered and blamed each other for more than a week over Obamacare, the president's signature health care law. House Republicans insisted the spending bill include anti-Obamacare amendments. Senate Democrats were just as insistent that it didn't.
Federal employees who are considered essential will continue working. But employees deemed non-essential -- close to 800,000 -- will be furloughed.
Most furloughed federal workers are supposed to be out of their offices within four hours of the start of business Tuesday.
President Barack Obama issued a statement early Tuesday to military members and Department of Defense employees about the outcome of the shutdown.
"Those of you in uniform will remain on your normal duty status," the president said. "Congress has passed, and I am signing into law, legislation to make sure you get your paychecks on time. And we'll continue working to address any impact this shutdown has on you and your families."
"To all our DOD civilians—I know the days ahead could mean more uncertainty, including possible furloughs," the president added. "And I know this comes on top of the furloughs that many of you already endured this summer. You and your families deserve better than the dysfunction we're seeing in Congress. ... That's why I'll keep working to get Congress to reopen our government and get you back to work as soon as possible."

Dalia Har Sinai is not your typical grandmother. She is the woman behind the operation of the Har Sinai Farm in Susiya, located in the south Hebron hills, where she and her family have resided for the past 30 years. Har Sinai single-handedly manages the flour mill, dairy farm, and the herd of sheep and goats.
Since her husband Yair was killed by Hamas terrorists as he was grazing their flock of sheep 12 years ago, Dalia has had to struggle to keep the farm operational with the assistance of a hired shepherd, her family, and volunteers.
Dalia and her husband Yair, both originally from agricultural communities in the Hefer Valley region, near Netanya, moved to the arid desert region of Susiya with their four children in 1984 after they became religious.
“When we started here, it was really a question of survival,” Har Sinai said in an exclusive interview with Tazpit News Agency last week.
At that time, there were only 10 families living in Susiya according to Har Sinai. “But we were the only farmers among the residents. The land was barren – this was state land that had been captured from Jordan during 1967,” said Har Sinai.
The Har Sinais had plenty of experience with agriculture prior to moving to Susiya. In Emek Hefer, they ran a dairy farm and later spent four months in the United States learning about organic farming from American farmers. The couple began implementing organic farming methods in Susiya as well, growing grapes, olives, and wheat with organic farming and environmentally-friendly techniques.

An Israeli soldier on the Israel-Gaza border. Picture: AP

A PALESTINIAN man has been shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza strip, Palestinian medical sources say.
The victim, 36-year-old Houshabe Abou Houshabe, was a civilian. He was killed by Israeli gunfire, according to the sources.
The Israeli military said its soldiers shot two Palestinians who tampered with the border fence between Israel and the Gaza strip.
The military said the Palestinians approached the fence and damaged it, posing an "imminent danger".
The army said "a hit was confirmed" on both, but refused to elaborate.
Israel considers the Gaza strip a hostile entity because the militant Islamic group Hamas rules there, and because militants in the seaside territory have carried out attacks on Israel.

Anybody wanting to lampoon the Obama presidency is out of luck — there is no way to top the real thing. From being outmaneuvered by Russia to erasing red lines in Syria and getting snubbed by Iran, September was the cruelest month.
That’s only half the bad news. For as small as the president looked abroad, he looked downright childish at home.
He is following his failure to negotiate successfully on the world stage with a refusal to negotiate at all at home. His message to Republicans on both the debt ceiling and ObamaCare is the same: nyet, nyet.
Call him confused about who the enemy is.
The dynamic is startling. The more the world pushes Barack Obama around, the more he pushes back at home. It reminds me of a Mort Sahl joke from the Cold War: Every time the Soviets lock up an American, we retaliate by locking up an American.

The Unrepentant Man

Jesus Christ was just a word, a word that many times I'd heard
People used to curse and swear, it meant nothing to me - i didn't care
I did my best as I lived my life, I raised my kids and loved my wife
I was honest in all my business dealings, I was always aware of another’s feelings
I didn't have any time to pray, I was so busy every day
I gave to the poor and those in need, as for the Bible, no time to read
My days rolled along at a steady pace, no thoughts of salvation, mercy or grace
My life seemed to pass like the blink of an eye... then at last it came - my time to die.

I stood up boldly before the Son, and told him of all the things I'd done
Then He spoke to me in a voice so clear, "I called and I called but you wouldn't hear
You turned your back when you heard My voice, it made me sad, but it was your choice
When I came near, you ran away, you said you didn't want Me to stay
What more could I do when you said "No!", I'm very sorry, but you'll have to go.

To come to the Father, the way is the Son, it doesn't matter what things you have done
If my blood has cleansed you from transgression and sin
There's no victory in death, the grave has no sting
For all of my children who come back to me
And repent of their sins, they are completely set free
To live for eternity with their Father above
They are covered forever in a garment of love"

"What's that You say? it must be a joke
You know I've been a pretty good bloke
What do you mean, “There's no room for me”?
Was it really for me that You died on that tree?
Of course, I've heard of that Christmas morn, when ’Unto us a Child is born’
Who came to earth to set men free, but that Christian stuff was never for me
Can't I change my mind? Is it really too late?
Has my careless rejection really sealed my fate?"

I looked for the last time on his Wonderful face
I pleaded once more for salvation and grace
But He turned, and walked away with a sigh. I saw the tears roll down from his eye
I watched until He was well out of sight, I was in darkness now - gone was the Light.

I stood for a moment in total despair, Satan was calling from his darkest lair
He was shouting and laughing and dancing in fun
Because from the Saviour a soul he had won
In fear I now turned, to face my fate...
...And slowly I walked towards Hell's burning gate.

court ruling that allowed girls to play on boys teams in Pennsylvania will reportedly be reconsidered this week, potentially paving the way for a ban on cross-gender play in the state.
Olivier Everts, a 15-year-old junior at Conestoga High School, has been the lead scorer on the girls' field hockey team for the past two seasons while donning the same uniform as his female counterparts, kilt included. Like hundreds of other student athletes across the state, Everts is able to compete thanks to a 1975 court decision that invalidated a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) rule that banned girls from playing on boys teams, Philly.com reports.
But PIAA officials are now deciding whether to revisit the issue, as the association joined a couple from Pittsburgh who asked a judge to overturn the 38-year-old ruling, citing the competitive imbalance boys were causing in their daughters' field hockey contests.
The association removed the previous rule banning cross-gender play from its bylaws in 1975, although individual schools can still ban the practice, PIAA Associate Executive Director Melissa Mertz told the newspaper.

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,” Philippians 1:9-10 NIV
===
Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon

Morning

"Sing forth the honour of his name, make his praise glorious."
Psalm 66:2
It is not left to our own option whether we shall praise God or not. Praise is God's most righteous due, and every Christian, as the recipient of his grace, is bound to praise God from day to day. It is true we have no authoritative rubric for daily praise; we have no commandment prescribing certain hours of song and thanksgiving: but the law written upon the heart teaches us that it is right to praise God; and the unwritten mandate comes to us with as much force as if it had been recorded on the tables of stone, or handed to us from the top of thundering Sinai. Yes, it is the Christian's duty to praise God. It is not only a pleasurable exercise, but it is the absolute obligation of his life. Think not ye who are always mourning, that ye are guiltless in this respect, or imagine that ye can discharge your duty to your God without songs of praise. You are bound by the bonds of his love to bless his name so long as you live, and his praise should continually be in your mouth, for you are blessed, in order that you may bless him; "this people have I formed for myself, they shall show forth my praise"; and if you do not praise God, you are not bringing forth the fruit which he, as the Divine Husbandman, has a right to expect at your hands. Let not your harp then hang upon the willows, but take it down, and strive, with a grateful heart, to bring forth its loudest music. Arise and chant his praise. With every morning's dawn, lift up your notes of thanksgiving, and let every setting sun be followed with your song. Girdle the earth with your praises; surround it with an atmosphere of melody, and God himself will hearken from heaven and accept your music.
"E'en so I love thee, and will love,
And in thy praise will sing,
Because thou art my loving God,
And my redeeming King."

Evening

"A living dog is better than a dead lion."
Ecclesiastes 9:4
Life is a precious thing, and in its humblest form it is superior to death. This truth is eminently certain in spiritual things. It is better to be the least in the kingdom of heaven than the greatest out of it. The lowest degree of grace is superior to the noblest development of unregenerate nature. Where the Holy Ghost implants divine life in the soul, there is a precious deposit which none of the refinements of education can equal. The thief on the cross excels Caesar on his throne; Lazarus among the dogs is better than Cicero among the senators; and the most unlettered Christian is in the sight of God superior to Plato. Life is the badge of nobility in the realm of spiritual things, and men without it are only coarser or finer specimens of the same lifeless material, needing to be quickened, for they are dead in trespasses and sins.
A living, loving, gospel sermon, however unlearned in matter and uncouth in style, is better than the finest discourse devoid of unction and power. A living dog keeps better watch than a dead lion, and is of more service to his master; and so the poorest spiritual preacher is infinitely to be preferred to the exquisite orator who has no wisdom but that of words, no energy but that of sound. The like holds good of our prayers and other religious exercises; if we are quickened in them by the Holy Spirit, they are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ, though we may think them to be worthless things; while our grand performances in which our hearts were absent, like dead lions, are mere carrion in the sight of the living God. O for living groans, living sighs, living despondencies, rather than lifeless songs and dead calms. Better anything than death. The snarlings of the dog of hell will at least keep us awake, but dead faith and dead profession, what greater curses can a man have? Quicken us, quicken us, O Lord!

1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan—
2 The people walking in darkness

5 Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
