US Campaign for Burma Yearly wrap

It's Because of You!

It has been amazing to work with all of you this year! Growing up in the jungle of Eastern Burma, I would have never thought that someday I would be working with so many amazing Americans that want to help bring peace to my country. I would like to thank all of you for your ongoing actions to help bring freedom, democracy, and peace to Burma. Thank you to the thousands and thousands of people who signed petitions, contacted your representatives, protested, blogged, tweeted, posted and more. We couldn’t do this important work without your support. USCB members were a major force behind Secretary Clinton telling Burma's leaders they have to release all political prisoners and end attacks against civilians. She delivered your voices strongly. Watch this video of thanks to Free Burma activists all over the U.S., including a special message from Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

Help keep the movement going by sharing your passion for Burma with others. Give adonation in someone's name and share the gift of freedom. We will mail a special card and an Aung San Suu Kyi 'Freedom to Lead' sticker to your recipient informing them of your special gift. Every year the movement has grown, and the dedicated efforts of supporters around the U.S. have massively helped to make Burma an important international issue.

In Aung San Suu Kyi's message to the U.S. Campaign for Burma National Organizing Meeting this year she said "As I appeal to you for your support, I would also like to thank you for all you have done in the past and to let you know that nothing that you have done has been in vain. Everything that you have done has had an effect. It has helped us to be strong, to stand up against oppression and to persevere with our efforts to make our country the kind of nation where all of us can be secure and free and all of us will be in a position to make our own contribution to the happiness of the world at large. Thank you."

We won't give up until ALL political prisoners are released, attacks stop against civilians, and Burma is truly on the road to lasting democracy. Help us continue to grow this movement. You can donate in someone's name or donate on behalf of yourself. Every bit helps.

Thank You!
