ShortCuts, Western Sydney’s only short film festival for young people is on again as part of the NSW Youth Week celebrations and will take place on the Saturday 4th April 2009.
An initiative of PYT, presented in partnership Rumble Pictures, Information and Cultural Exchange and Metro Screen . ShortCuts gives young filmmakers from the region the chance to have their films screened and awarded over $5,000 worth of prizes by a panel of professional judges.
JUDGES
George Basha – Actor/Writer/Co-producer of the film The Combination. George hails from the West, spending his youth in Parramatta.
Serhat Caradee – Director/Writer/Actor/Co-producer of the upcoming feature film – Cedar Boys. Serhat grew up in Blacktown.
Belinda King – Actor/Writer/Director and multiple Tropfest award winner for her films The Sister and The Picnic. Belinda studied at the University of Western Sydney and is a graduate of Theatre.
ShortCuts is open to films that have been made by young people 26 years and under, who live, work or study in Western Sydney. The films cannot be longer than 7 minutes and cast and crew also need to have a connection to Western Sydney.
ShortCuts is an integral part of the Fairfield Youth Week celebrations and is proudly supported by Fairfield City Council.
Shortcuts will screen on the 4th of April 2009. Ticket Entry is $5.
