Health Debate Canberra Press Gallery vs Abbott

It was clear the canberra press gallery had mapped out a salvage for their hero, Rudd. Rudd was abysmal. Has anyone else noticed that Rudd was strident in denouncing Abbott for not having a health plan .. but neither has the Government. What are Australians to say about the incumbent policyless Rudd who wants to spend but won't say on what he wants to spend on.

as News.com says,
THEY talked for about an hour, but said nothing really new. And patients were given little to help them decide who has the better prescription for what ails them.
But that is a hopelessly misleading summation. Rudd refused to specify detail and challenged the opposition leader to give him something. Rudd refused to say what he would do with the money he wanted, which is substantial. Rudd lied about the record of Mr Abbott in government, he even risibly claimed that a promise not honored by the Rudd government hadn't been honored by Mr Abbott. Rudd made the stale old lie about a billion dollar shortfall in spending from Abbott's time as health minister and Abbott showed how that was false. Then Rudd misread a table from former budget papers, confirming he didn't know what he was saying or was hoping to deceive the public. The press were Rudd's willing participants. Laurie Oaks on channel 9 summed it up as misleadingly as news.com.au. Channel 10 was similar.
The worm was clearly connected to an ALP audience. The one member who spoke at the end claiming to give it to Rudd because "He can't do it all in two years." The member then claimed he came in believing Abbott had a chance, but it was clear he was died in the wool ALP and he confirmed it with everything he said.

Update, Bolt awards it to Rudd too. but then Bolt is a former ALP speech writer who hasn't gone that far from his roots. He knows what Rudd says is wrong, but he just won't denounce it.
