Liberal Media Still Savaging Liberal Party

chutzpah, originally uploaded by ddbsweasel.

Four Corners gloats over an election win to the ALP. They 'interview' former ministers who are moving on. Nothing new was said. No report is made on the new direction of the party under the new leadership. No criticism is made of the new administration. The viewing public deserve better journalism.
Media Watch ignores the apology fiasco. Rudd announcing Liberal Leader Brendan Nelson would do things before he alerted Dr Nelson that he was asking him. In front of cameras. Mr Howard never behaved that way with Rudd. Rudd further distinguishes himself by withdrawing that which supports the communities in need. The viewing public deserves better criticism.
Andrew Bolt readers are told of the shortcomings of the new ALP admin, but are gushingly assured that there were weaknesses to the other party, too.
News.com.au readers are told that it doesn't matter how bad the NSW government is, under the ALP, it is fault of the opposition, whom they claim to be unpopular.
===
It is very hard for a Liberal Party member to be heard, unless they are in some way critical of the Liberal Party. That is because of media bias. The public deserve better from the journalists.

Four Corners gorges itself on blubbering Libs
by Andrew Bolt
Can someone explain to me what there was Four Corner‘s exultant retelling tonight of the saga of Peter Costello’s frustrated leadership ambitions that we didn’t know already?

All I learned was the following:

1. Four Corners really, really wanted to gloat over Howard’s fall. (But even that’s not news.)

2. Several senior Liberals are far too keen to discuss their party’s weaknesses with their enemies in the ABC.

How silly of Joe Hockey, Tony Abbott, Christopher Pyne, Andrew Robb, Alexander Downer and Nick Minchin to give Four Corners footage enough to tie their party in knots. As for Costello’s appearance, I take that as confirmation he really is going and doesn’t care if he’s seen to be whingeing again. And has Judith Troeth ever attacked Labor with the spirit with which she attacks her own?

What a great advertisement for a rabble. How badly the party needs to regain pride, confidence and discipline.

But, to be positive, it’s a sign of hope for the Liberals that Brendan Nelson, Julie Bishop and Malcolm Turnbull did not - and presumably would not - appear. They should ask their yappier colleagues to learn from their stoic example.

Just a little reminder, fellas. The election you need to forcus on is the next one, not the last.

Media Watch watched
by Andrew Bolt
The topics of the first Media Watch for three long months were:

1. Some Perth radio station blurting out the news a couple of weeks back that Heath Ledger had “hanged” himself, while knowing his Perth family might not yet have heard.

2. New Media Watch host Jonathan Holmes revealing that many years ago he’d made a mistake too, confusing Joe Lyons with some other prime minister I can’t remember.

3. A late-night radio host discussing whether women were wise to dress provocatively, knowing what ratbags some men were.

4. A few news outlets doing a story on a family of ADHD sufferers, who’d announced themselves on YouTube videos which had been sponsored in part by a company which made drugs from the alleged affliction.

5. Current affairs shows paying Corey Worthington money last month.

Oh, dear. Actually, the only talk-about topic from that was probably Holme’s left thumb. Why does he wagggle it in time with his words? Why didn’t someone stop him? What’s on Nine? And was Monica Attard really that boring?

Please, help out this show that you help pay for. Nominate your own should-have-done list for the Media Watch team, which seems timid, apologetic, and so perfectly correct.

Dumb Liberals go on TV to say they were dumb
by Andrew Bolt
Absolutely right:

Senior federal Liberals “spilling their guts” about the Howard government’s downfall is degrading, outspoken former Victorian Liberal premier Jeff Kennett says.

Mr Kennett said he would not watch tonight’s ABC television Four Corners program, in which senior Liberals tell of the former Howard government’s final weeks.

The Liberals shooting off their mouths are simply telling voters they were right not to trust the Liberals then ... and certainly now. Beyond stupid.
