"You'll remember in January last year the Student Guild at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane banned the IPA's Generation Liberty program from participating in student orientation activities on campus, because according to the Guild 'your [the IPA's] brand does not align with our values'.
The ban received nationwide media coverage as yet another demonstration of the freedom of speech crisis in our universities.
The Institute of Public Affairs and the IPA's Generation Liberty Campus Coordinator at QUT, Chris Dekker fought the ban - for the sake not only of QUT students but as a matter of principle for every student in every university and every school in Australia.
Chris lodged a complaint with the Queensland Human Rights Commission on the basis the QUT Student Guild had breached both the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act by discriminating against him because of his political beliefs and the Queensland Human Rights Act by restricting his rights specified in the legislation including his freedom of expression, his right to peaceful assembly and freedom of association, his right to take part in public life, his freedom of thought, and his freedom of conscience.
The IPA and Chris didn't want any financial compensation from the Guild, only a public apology so that what occurred would never happen again and to set a precedent so that other student associations at other universities wouldn't attempt to do what the QUT Student Guild had done."
But it has happened again .. "The IPA's Generation Liberty program now has a presence at more than 20 Australian universities and until the actions of the QUT Student Guild last year had operated without incident as Generation Liberty held events and debates and hosted guest speakers at many different universities. What occurred at QUT is I fear a sign of the times as universities become more hostile to any ideas that challenge the prevailing left-wing orthodoxy of our tertiary institutions. After operating successfully at Monash University in Melbourne for the last few years, Generation Liberty was banned from the campus by the student association from participating in the university’s orientation activities because of the views they assume the IPA holds about climate change. We've lodged a complaint with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission which hasn't been heard as yet, and I'll of course keep you informed of developments."

Dear Boss,
Compelling any employee to take any current Covid-19 vaccine violates federal and state law, and subjects the employer to substantial liability risk, including liability for any injury the employee may suffer from the vaccine. Many employers have reconsidered issuing such a mandate after more fruitful review with legal counsel, insurance providers, and public opinion advisors of the desires of employees and the consuming public. Even the Kaiser Foundation warned of the legal risk in this respect. (https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/issue-brief/key-questions-about-covid-19-vaccine-mandates/)
Three key concerns: first, while the vaccine remains unapproved by the FDA and authorized only for emergency use, federal law forbids mandating it, in accordance with the Nuremberg Code of 1947; second, the Americans with Disabilities Act proscribes, punishes and penalizes employers who invasively inquire into their employees' medical status and then treat those employees differently based on their medical status, as the many AIDS related cases of decades ago fully attest; and third, international law, Constitutional law, specific statutes and the common law of torts all forbid conditioning access to employment upon coerced, invasive medical examinations and treatment, unless the employer can fully provide objective, scientifically validated evidence of the threat from the employee and how no practicable alternative could possible suffice to mitigate such supposed public health threat and still perform the necessary essentials of employment.
At the outset, consider the "problem" being "solved" by vaccination mandates. The previously infected are better protected than the vaccinated, so why aren't they exempted? Equally, the symptomatic can be self-isolated. Hence, requiring vaccinations only addresses one risk: dangerous or deadly transmission, by the asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic employee, in the employment setting. Yet even government official Mr. Fauci admits, as scientific studies affirm, asymptomatic transmission is exceedingly and "very rare." Indeed, initial data suggests the vaccinated are just as, or even much more, likely to transmit the virus as the asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic. Hence, the vaccine solves nothing. This evidentiary limitation on any employer's decision making, aside from the legal and insurance risks of forcing vaccinations as a term of employment without any accommodation or even exception for the previously infected (and thus better protected), is the reason most employers wisely refuse to mandate the vaccine. This doesn't even address the arbitrary self-limitation of the pool of talent for the employer: why reduce your own talent pool, when many who refuse invasive inquiries or risky treatment may be amongst your most effective, efficient and profitable employees?
First, federal law prohibits any mandate of the Covid-19 vaccines as unlicensed, emergency-use-authorization-only vaccines. Subsection bbb-3(e)(1)(A)(ii)(III) of section 360 of Title 21 of the United States Code, otherwise known as the Emergency Use Authorization section of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, demands that everyone give employees the "option to accept or refuse administration" of the Covid-19 vaccine. (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/21/360bbb-3 ) This right to refuse emergency, experimental vaccines, such as the Covid-19 vaccine, implements the internationally agreed legal requirement of Informed Consent established in the Nuremberg Code of 1947. (http://www.cirp.org/library/ethics/nuremberg/ ). As the Nuremberg Code established, every person must "be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision" for any medical experimental drug, as the Covid-19 vaccine currently is. The Nuremberg Code prohibited even the military from requiring such experimental vaccines. (Doe #1 v. Rumsfeld, 297 F.Supp.2d 119 (D.D.C. 2003).
Second, demanding employees divulge their personal medical information invades their protected right to privacy, and discriminates against them based on their perceived medical status, in contravention of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (42 USC §12112(a).) Indeed, the ADA prohibits employers from invasive inquiries about their medical status, and that includes questions about diseases and treatments for those diseases, such as vaccines. As the EEOC makes clear, an employer can only ask medical information if the employer can prove the medical information is both job-related and necessary for the business. (https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/guidance/questions-and-answers-enforcement-guidance-disability-related-inquiries-and-medical). An employer that treats an individual employee differently based on that employer’s belief the employee’s medical condition impairs the employee is discriminating against that employee based on perceived medical status disability, in contravention of the ADA. The employer must have proof that the employer cannot keep the employee, even with reasonable accommodations, before any adverse action can be taken against the employee. If the employer asserts the employee’s medical status (such as being unvaccinated against a particular disease) precludes employment, then the employer must prove that the employee poses a “safety hazard” that cannot be reduced with a reasonable accommodation. The employer must prove, with objective, scientifically validated evidence, that the employee poses a materially enhanced risk of serious harm that no reasonable accommodation could mitigate. This requires the employee's medical status cause a substantial risk of serious harm, a risk that cannot be reduced by any another means. This is a high, and difficult burden, for employers to meet. Just look at the all prior cases concerning HIV and AIDS, when employers discriminated against employees based on their perceived dangerousness, and ended up paying millions in legal fees, damages and fines.
Third, conditioning continued employment upon participating in a medical experiment and demanding disclosure of private, personal medical information, may also create employer liability under other federal and state laws, including HIPAA, FMLA, and applicable state tort law principles, including torts prohibiting and proscribing invasions of privacy and battery. Indeed, any employer mandating a vaccine is liable to their employee for any adverse event suffered by that employee. The CDC records reports of the adverse events already reported to date concerning the current Covid-19 vaccine.(https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/vaers.html )
Finally, forced vaccines constitute a form of battery, and the Supreme Court long made clear "no right is more sacred than the right of every individual to the control of their own person, free from all restraint or interference of others." (https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/141/250)
With Regards,
Employee of the Year

1. Covid. In terms of transmission risk, the results from Iceland continue to raise questions about the vaccine's efficacy in reducing transmission, as Iceland is "experiencing its largest wave of Covid-19 infections despite close to 100% of adults being vaccinated." https://dailyexpose.co.uk/2021/08/09/iceland-is-experiencing-its-largest-covid-19-wave-to-date-despite-nearly-100-of-all-adults-being-vaccinated/
2. Legal. Showing how bad the federal judiciary is on this issue, a federal judge in Florida prohibited Florida from enforcing its law against vaccine passports. It's the nuttiest interpretation of the First Amendment I've ever seen, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander, so I might try it in reverse against the vaccine mandates. https://www.politico.com/states/f/?id=0000017b-2848-d1e7-a1fb-3acd5a420000

4. Political. Now you know why Georgia wouldn't publish the ballots. Folks already spotting examples of ballots improperly counted for Biden when the ballot marked Trump. Also shows the power of using the Open Records Act to get access to these ballots. "Scores of additional ballots that same day had checks manually removed next to Trump's name" and "the votes awarded instead to Biden or other candidates." https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/georgia-ballot-adjudication-spoiled

I'm contributing to QUORA, a question and answer site that can be a bit addictive.
At what point does news evolve into history? Are students in school studying 9/11 in history class? The most recent elections? When does history start to make its judgments?
Colloquially, for the West, there is Ancient History, Medieval History, Renaissance, Modern History and Recent History. The problem with Recent History is it is highly influenced by current politics.
Ancient History in the west extends from pre history to the fall of Rome. Medieval History finishes at the Renaissance. Renaissance finishes with the French Revolution. Modern History probably finishes at the moment with the end of the first cold war circa 1990. When studied Modern History at school, my teachers said that the Vietnam War was too recent to be evaluated properly. But then one of my teachers was a Leninist and another was a socialist. They all decided the peace movement was a grass roots thing entirely reliant on US military ‘aggression.’ How would they evaluate Obama’s new Cold War? How would they evaluate Bill Clinton? How would they evaluate Trump?
We study history to understand the present. If we weigh down our political expectations we skew our analysis. Even so, we still aren’t able to recognise Truman’s nuclear strikes on Japan as war crimes. We still don’t criticise Clinton on Rwanda or former Yugoslavia. History is not a series of cheers for one side and boos for the other. And yet many say JFK was great, and died too soon. The truth is his presidency was awful and he died too soon. I feel that after 2020, it will be recognised President George W Bush will be recognised as truly great. Not before, because Trump needs to stamp on him to get his second term. How long before historians realise that the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan played a really unfortunate role in Rwanda?
One may quibble with my arbitrary demarcations, they are not hard and fast. The renaissance is ongoing. There are more ways of breaking down the time periods.
Students are studying 9/11 right now. But those doing so are studying the politics of their teachers.
A daily column on what the ALP have as a policy, supported by a local member, and how it has 'helped' the local community. I'll stop if I cannot identify a policy. Feel free to make suggestions. Contact me on FB, not twitter. I have twitter, but never look at it.
Gabrielle Williams was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers, working with the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing and the Minister for Families and Children. Williams was given those titles when elected in 2014. It is difficult to find what value she has been to Dandenong, but clearly the ALP see her as the future. Following is an answer in QUORA.
What is the most morally corrupt thing that has ever gone unpunished or without justice?
Because the event is recent I must be careful about this. This is not my story, but based on things I know to have happened.
Many unjust things happen and it is impossible to weigh them. The persecution of Jews for millennia is a monstrous wrong committed by my Christian brothers and sisters, as well as others. I cannot right that wrong, but I stand for an independent strong Jewish state in Israel. Disraeli is reputed to have said “Two thousand years of Christian love has left the Jews feeling nervous.” But Disraeli, while from a Jewish family, was Christian. Jews don’t like Christians evangelising to them as it is not part of their culture. They raise their children in their faith, not other people. The Mortara case began in 1857 and Disraeli became PM in 1868, and again from 1874 to 1880. So Disraeli was aware of Mortara.
Edgardo Mortara was a Jewish child born in Bologna, Italy, the sixth of eight children to a Jewish merchant, in 1851. Their community was small (about 200) and there was no synagog or rabbi. It was a custom of Jewish community to hire gentiles who could work on Sabbath. The Mortara family had hired an illiterate Catholic girl, Anna Morisi. Anna was 18 yo when hired, in 1851, and became pregnant. Rather than sacking her, Mortara’s dad paid for her to have her baby and come back to work for him. The baby was, as was law in Papal States, given to an orphanage to raise as Catholic. Anna worked until 1857 for Mortara, when she was hired by another Bologna family, and soon married and moved back to her home town.
A rumour was heard by inquisition that a Jewish baby had been baptised secretly by a Catholic. Inquisition investigated and discovered Anna had baptised Edgardo when she thought he was gravely sick as an infant. He recovered and she had not admitted to it to the parents. Papal state was being threatened by plans for unification of Italy and so there was a separation between the executive and administration. Under Papal State law, a Catholic child would not be raised by Jewish parents. So in 1857, the six year old Edgardo was taken by police. No appeal was allowed.
His father spent the rest of his life trying to reunite, dying in 1871. The mother spent the rest of her life trying to reunite, dying in 1891. Edgardo had been adopted by the Pope, and put the Pope’s name before his own. Edgardo tried to convert his mother before her death, as he had become a Catholic Priest. The Papal States dissolved to become Italy in 1861.
That was not the story I intended to tell, but it is an example of how such things cannot be weighed, cannot be fixed. Instead, my story is different and dates to Cabramatta during the years of the 5T gang. At the time, ALP member Phuong Ngo, who was later jailed for the assassination of MP John Newman, owned restaurants where 5T gang members would eat, and provide protection. In 1991, a local high school had had a new year 11 year adviser who had organised an excursion on weekend for Yum Cha.
Phung Ngo owned the restaurant and 5T gang were there, being watched by police. The local school had students who were part of the 5T gang. One year 11 boy had a connection with the girlfriend of the leader of 5T. When the girlfriend later killed the leader, she would lead the gang until her death. On this day, the year 11 students sat with their year advisers on banquet tables up an escalator to the first floor restaurant. Police, watching those come and go, were filming the exit from across John Street. The restaurant had taken the booking, with management knowing of danger. The police were aware of issues. The year adviser was oblivious to the danger.
The year 11 boy had decided to leave the gang and live clean. But he would have been aware of the gang members there. It is said the gang leader’s girlfriend gave the order and gang members broke bottles and began fighting the boy. The year advisers rose to help, and students saved their lives by holding them down. The boy was stabbed multiple times with broken bottles. His broken body was eventually left at the bottom of the escalator. Students, and staff, were threatened with consequences to their families if they told on what had happened. Police arrived and interviewed staff and students, not finishing before the next morning.
No one was ever brought to book for the killing. Students who had known some of the gang members had known telling their names might result in their deaths, and the deaths of their family. The ALP connection, through Phuong Ngo, meant that even had students informed in secrecy, they might be identified to 5T. The ALP have maintained democratic majority of Cabramatta since the 1950s.
As part of the November 24th Vic election campaign I have a petition I want to bring before the Opposition Leader Matthew Guy. I believe Matthew will be the next premier of Victoria and so I am petitioning him as I raise the issues of Employment, Crime and Education in Dandenong. I am also seeking money for my campaign. I don't have party resources, and so my campaign is on foot, and on the internet. Any money I receive that is not spent on the campaign will go to Grow 4 Life. I am asking questions like "What do you love about Dandenong?" and "If you could change something in Dandenong to make it better, what would it be?" I'm not limiting the questions to state issues. I'm happy to discuss anything, and get things done.
At the battle of Lechfield in 955 Hungarians claimed to be Europeans, Germans disputed it, and won. In 991 at the Battle of Maldon, in Essex, Vikings faced Aethelred the Unready and won 3,300 Kg of silver. In 1270 Yekuno Amlak took the imperial throne of Ethiopia, restoring the Solomonic dynasty to power after a 100-year Zagwe interregnum. In 1316, the second battle of Athenry between Irish forces resulted in an Irish loss. No survivors wrote an account. Many lost their heads. In 1512, at the Battle of Saint-Mathieu, England's Henry VIII had a naval victory, but both the flagships blew up. Possibly the first engagement using port cannon. In 1519 Magellan set off on a round the world trip. He died en-route. His birthplace is disputed as to changeovers between Spain and Portugal. He might have been Palestinian. In 1628, Sweden built the magnificent Vasa, which sank twenty minutes into her maiden voyage. In 1675, desperate to know the correct time, the cornerstone to Royal Greenwich Observatory was laid. In 1776, the Declaration of independence reached London. In 1792 in the French Revolution Louis XVI was arrested and his entire bodyguard killed. The next year, the Musée du Louvre was opened. In 1846, the Smithsonian was chartered by the US Congress. In 1904 the Russians and Japanese faced off at the Battle of Yellow Sea and had a draw. In 1932, a meteorite weighing 5.1kg landed in Missouri. In 1948, Candid Camera made a tv debut a year after Candid Microphone began on Radio. In 1969, A day after murdering Sharon Tate and four others, members of Charles Manson's cult killed Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. In 1977, David Berkowitz was arrested, he was called the Son of Sam, and he had killed people at random. In 1981, the head of Adam Walsh was found. Adam was six years old and his death prompted his dad to start America's Most Wanted. In 1988, Reagan began paying compensation to living Japanese Americans detained in WW2 by signing the Civil Liberties act of 1988. In 1990, the Magellan space probe reached Venus, four hundred and seventy one years after Magellan set forth on a circumnavigation. In 1995, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nicholls were indicted for the Oklahoma Bombing. In 2003, the highest temperature ever recorded in the UK, 38.5 degrees centigrade was reached. It has been cooler ever since. On the same day, a couple married in space, but there is no evidence they were gay.

Today's Old Testament reading: Psalm 77-78
For the director of music. For Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A psalm.
I cried out to God to hear me.
2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord;
at night I stretched out untiring hands,
and I would not be comforted.
I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.
4 You kept my eyes from closing;
I was too troubled to speak.
5 I thought about the former days,
the years of long ago;
6 I remembered my songs in the night.
My heart meditated and my spirit asked:
7 "Will the Lord reject forever?
Will he never show his favor again?
Today's New Testament reading: Romans 10
5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: "The person who does these things will live by them." 6But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, "Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.
Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?
January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
