It is ok to fail, but better to be successful. MyHeritage had DNA linked me to a US based cousin. We have separate trees without common ancestors, but Ball is prominent in each. MyHeritage used generic trees to link us, providing me with a map. A common ancestor, it turned out, was the Potomac Ball line which includes George Washington. I immediately set about disproving the link in the hopes I would be unsuccessful. But I succeeded!
My family 'Ball' line goes to Salford, Manchester in the mid 1800's. We believe the line originated in County Cork, Ireland. However, Potomac Ball line originates in Manchester circa 1600. I'm confident, if I can research that far, I'll find a Potomac Ball before their migration to the New World as tobacco farmers. My Salford line includes a James Ball in mid 1800's whose father I've not yet found. It may have been a George Ball. The Potomac line includes a mid 1800 George Ball. However the Potomac George Ball would have been 9 years old when his first son was conceived. Unlikely. More likely is that my DNA linked cousin could not find their match and searched the Potomac way as a possible compromise.
My search continues for family.

"Cat's in the Cradle" is a 1974 folk rock song by Harry Chapin from the album Verities & Balderdash. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1974. As Chapin's only #1 hit song, it became the best known of his work and a staple for folk rock music.
The lyrics to the verses of the song were originally written as a poem by Chapin's wife, Sandy Chapin, who is credited as the song's co-writer. The poem itself was inspired by the awkward relationship between Sandy Chapin's first husband, James Cashmore, and his father, a New York City politician. She was also inspired by a country music song she'd heard on the radio.

What prompted you to upload this to Youtube? I can't believe that I listened to the whole thing, despite the fact your singing is so off key.

Malcolm Turnbull has a method of making things much worse. Turnbull's comments on the ball tampering scandal has helped ensure a disproportionate response from Australian Cricket. Two of three players singled out did the wrong thing with tampering with the ball. Two of three did the wrong thing in concealing it from authorities when it might have been dealt with better. But combined the three players have life long bans from captaincy roles, over three years bans from playing and over $five million lost in fines and lost employment. When elsewhere on other occasions players who are caught tampering with the ball may not be penalised at all. The result is a manifest injustice and one hopes the players will overturn the penalties and Sutherland and Turnbull are called to account. One is reminded when Obama remarked on the death of a thug that he might have been his son, and so authorities persecuted an innocent party.
Trump is very successful as President, and it is becoming increasingly apparent mainstream news sites in the US are afraid of that success. They want Trump to fail and are campaigning to initiate failure. And failing.
For some, at the moment, the Sex Party has more credibility.
Press are reporting on the murderous suicide pilot who killed 149 in the Pyrenees, along with himself. Dumped by his girlfriend the day before. Told his eyesight was failing and he'd never be a flight captain. The coward killed many good people. One of whom was the flight captain, a father of two. He pounded on the door and attempted to enter the cabin, but security measures brought in after 9/11 and other terrorist events, prevented him from saving himself and those people. The poor man. Killed by betrayal. He did nothing wrong.
In 1683, a 15 year old girl was burnt at the stake in Japan. She had met a boy she liked during a fire, and the next year, had attempted to set a fire to see him again. She was caught and brought before a magistrate. The penalty for setting fires was death, but because she was fifteen, she wasn't subject to the law. The magistrate gave her a way out by acknowledging her age, but she claimed to be 16 and adult. So the sentence was carried out. She was a fire horse, according to the zodiac, and forever after, the population of Asia would shrink every sixty years as parents strove to avoid fire horse children. Her name was Yaoya Oshichi, literally "greengrocer Oshichi". In 1792, Gustav III of Sweden died from wounds after being assassinated (shot in the back) 13 days earlier at a royal masquerade ball. He was an enlightened despot and so his killer was not tortured to death until after he was found guilty. He had supported the French Kings deposed by the revolution. Australia has not been operating as a nation for two thousand years, or even two hundred years. But in 114 years since federation, the history of union corruption is legendary. The unearthing of the AWU scandal, HSU scandal or any of many others illustrates that the known corruption of union activity in WW2 or thirties has never been addressed. The terracotta army had been buried over time. But the Union corruption has been buried by words from the ABC and ALP love media. It is understandable that a union devotee would cover their ears rather than acknowledge the problem, it is not acceptable that a journalist does the same, regardless of loyalty.

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.
Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?
January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
