As part of their Bank Holiday weekend demonstrations, the English Defence League (EDL) arranged a rally in London's HalfWay to Heaven gay bar and were happy to find a "lot of lads" were present.

Stephanie Ann Yeah, it's hard when you don't know about what these movements stand for. EDL = English Defence League, there is also and ADL here in Aus and a USDL in the USA. This article takes a very "soft" view of the EDL. When you look up some of their mantra and rantings, they are not organisations that the majority of "normal" people would support. They work simply on emotive issues that suit their own agenda and whip up a frenzy of hatred when they need to.

David Daniel Ball EDL is a response to the Irish separatists (IRA) and UDL (Ulster Defence League) .. para military .. in Australia it is closely aligned with the actual defence force and some soldiers and some who would never be soldier join it in camaraderie. But it isn't innocent and its history is informed by bigotry.

Lexanne Hamilton i just think it s wrong that in English hospitals, muslim nurses have different hygiene requirements than others because what they call the multiculture is no longer largely of the English. I have muslim friends on my facebook and i havn t asked them yet...but I believe they would agree with me. I dont know if they can see this group page.
