Foley wants to be Premier in NSW. He offers 'White Flight' as a simplified explanation for demographic change in Sydney, singling out Syrian and Iraqi refugees. Recently, refugee acceptance has shifted from Islam dominated to Christian dominated refugees. Which explains why Foley is speaking out now about something that has been happening since Sydney was founded. But it is a stupid diminution of what is happening, and does not explain the success story of Cabramatta against the failure of Bankstown. The Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu or Confucian led Asian communities contribute well to their new homes. Assimilation is not an issue for them. In particular, the Vietnamese community has offered far more than it has ever taken. But Foley needs to dog whistle racist bigots for support. The message has to be simple, or they just won't get it.
Trump calls off NK Summit. He did so citing the hostility of NK's recent messages. Trump has left the door open. Critics of Trump who hope for failure are already saying they knew Trump would mess up. But Trump has not messed up. Already, with the dismantling of one NK nuclear site, Trump has been more successful than all sixteen years of Clinton and Obama.
Brad Parscale and RNC have demanded FB show transparency (and evenhandedness) on censorship. Last week, FB booted me for two days over a video I'd shared. I had not known the full story behind the video, it was an image of a guy pointing a gun at women and children and being shot and arrested by one of the women. It was grainy and did not show detail like blood. I had thought it was a mock up illustrating a gun rights meme. I shared it from FB to my page, and from my page to a group I run. Someone complained, possibly, and I was banned for 48 hours, but apparently the site I shared it from was untouched. Later, as the news media caught on to events in Brazil where it was taken, the full story emerged and the video became ubiquitous. FB's handling was poor, regarding me. They engaged in procedural unfairness and failed to recognise my good citizenship. As a protest I have stopped sharing timeline historical data which took significant effort on my part and really only boosted FB.
1487, the ten-year-old Lambert Simnel was crowned in Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, with the name of Edward VI in a bid to threaten King Henry VII's reign. Henry VII captured him and pardoned him, employing him in his kitchen. In 1607, One hundred English settlers disembarked in Jamestown, the first English colony in America. 1689, the English Parliament passed the Act of Toleration protecting Protestants. Roman Catholics were intentionally excluded. 1738, John Wesley was converted, essentially launching the Methodist movement; the day is celebrated annually by Methodists as Aldersgate Day and a church service is generally held on the preceding Sunday. He claimed the moment of his conversion was when he felt his heart warmed. Methodism is very good at sending out disciples to work with the poor and needy. It has an estimated 80 million adherents today. Wesley opposed Calvinist predestination doctrine, believing instead anyone could achieve the state where the love of god "Reigned supreme in their hearts" giving them outward holiness. 1798, the Irish Rebellion of 1798 led by the United Irishmen against British rule began. They were inspired by the US and French revolutions. It went badly for the rebels and many atrocities were committed. The Catholic Church opposed the rebellion at the time, but a legend grew that they supported it which they fostered later. 1940, acting on the orders of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, NKVD agent Iosif Grigulevich orchestrated an unsuccessful assassination attempt on exiled Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky in Coyoacán, Mexico. Another assassin got Trotsky later that year. Trotsky's dying words were of admiration to Stalin.

Peter Greste, an Australian journalist who worked for Al Jazeera and was saved from Egypt, after political intervention, has said he wants to go back and fight for his colleagues in court. He had been convicted of news reporting damaging to Egypt's national security, and Al Jazeera's bigoted anti Israel pro jihadist material fits that bill. Greste may claim he was professional, but only to a low BBC/ABC/CNN standard which may be nuanced in a strong democracy, but which is murderous in a fractured and fractious land such as Egypt.

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.
Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?
January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
