JOY IN THE LAND OF JIHAD

Tim Blair – Saturday, December 29, 2012 (5:12pm)

The grand mufti of the Australian continent visits his Hamas mates:
Sheikh Ibrahim Salem expressed his happiness for being in Gaza, describing it as the land ofpride and martyrdom.
“I am pleased to stand on the land of jihad to learn from its sons and I have the honor to be among the people of Gaza where the weakness always becomes strength, the few becomes many and the humiliation turns into pride,” Sheikh Salem said.
Our Egyptian-born super mufti was appointed last year and is considered a moderate. Hmmm.

While he’s hangin’ with Hamas – “obviously a terrorist organisation”, according to Prime Minister Julia Gillard – the Sheikh is also seeking advice from trees and rocks
“We came here in order to learn from Gaza. As I said in my speech, we will make the stones, trees, and people of Gaza talk, in order to learn steadfastness, sacrifice, and the defense of one’s rights from them. We feel like we are on cloud nine. We feel like we are on top of the world.”
So he’ll be staying there, then. Enjoy the local fireworks, mufti man.

WORLD’S CLIMATE UPSET

Tim Blair – Saturday, December 29, 2012 (4:55pm)

Low-rating climate expert Leonardo DiCaprio warns of warming
The problem is we are pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere much faster than the land and seas can absorb it, the accumulating gas is trapping heat and upsetting the world’s climate …
I urge individuals around the world to stand up, and ask local leaders, if they haven’t already, to pledge to purchase cleaner cars, build green facilities, and buy green power like wind or solar energy. Our actions may determine if we become a casualty in the war for a habitable planet for generations to come.
Yes, Leo. About those actions …
A slew of celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, flew into Sydney on Friday reportedly as part of their plan to welcome in the new year in the city before catching light planes to Canberra Airport, then boarding a private jet to Las Vegas for a second tilt at revelry …
‘’They’ll be coming into Canberra on light planes, which are allowed to fly out of Sydney, then they’ll get on their big jet in Canberra and fly off to their next destination,’’ [an airport spokeswoman] said.

Tim Blair – Saturday, December 29, 2012 (4:38pm)

AAP frequently avoids publishing descriptions of certain lawbreakers. But look at this AAP report
Two armed men have stormed a fast food restaurant and threatened staff before fleeing with cash in Sydney’s southwest …
They are described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged around 20, about 180cm tall and were wearing dark clothing.

GROUP-THINK RESISTED

Tim Blair – Saturday, December 29, 2012 (12:42pm)

Age cartoonist John Spooner celebrates those who “overcame the pressures of group-think, intimidation and tribal disapproval” to question warmy propaganda. Much of which is published by the Age.
UPDATE. Richard Parncutt, the musicologist of extreme climate justice, now recants:
I wish to apologize publicly to all those who were offended by texts that were previously posted at this address. I made claims that were incorrect and comparisons that were completely inappropriate, which I deeply regret. I alone am entirely responsible for the content of those texts. I would also like to thank all those who took the time and trouble to share their thoughts in emails.
In October 2012, I wrote the following on this page: “I have always been opposed to the death penalty in all cases, and I have always supported the clear and consistent stand of Amnesty International on this issue. The death penalty is barbaric, racist, expensive, and is often applied by mistake.” I wish to confirm that this is indeed my opinion. More generally, all human beings in all places and at all times have equal rights. I have been a member and financial supporter of Amnesty International for at least 18 years, and I admire and support their universal, altruistic approach to defending human rights.
UPDATE II. Apology aside, Parncutt has a real thing for executions
To avoid the US fiscal cliff, the rich will have to pay more tax. The democratically elected US president has a mandate, but Congress, which is dominated by millionaires, will try to stop him. This is corruption at the highest level. Democracy? You must be joking. Off with their heads?Today, we prefer to avoid violence, although millions are dying of hunger and preventable disease worldwide, killed indirectly by the selfishness of rich politicians.

LABOR ABANDONS NSW TO DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM THE STENCH OF THE TAINTED “NSW LABOR” BRAND.

Such is the stench emancipating from Labor in NSW, that today’s Financial Review reports that Labor are planning to abandoning NSW by relocating their 2013 federal election headquarters from Sydney to Melbourne.

At first this seems astounding given that half of Gillard’s 10 most marginal seats are in western Sydney or on the NSW central coast, and with the election likely to be won or lost in the NSW.

But such is the stench of the tainted NSW “Labor Brand” its little surprise that Labor have decided to abandon NSW.

Please feel free to SHARE.

WINNER – Quote of “THE MOST BLEEDIN’ OBVIOUS” for 2012

“We embarked on a big transition to a low-carbon economy without taking into account the cost and without factoring in the competitive impact ……… I think there will be a critical review of some of these policies in the next few years.”

Mr. Fabien Roques, head of ‘European Power and Carbon’ at the energy consulting firm IHS CERA in Paris.

I wonder how long it will take Gillard, Combet, Dreyfus and others to wake-up and realize the insanity of their Carbon Tax and damage they will cause to Australia by following Europe’s disastrous ETS.

WAYNE IN WONDERLAND - "THE TEA PARTY ATE MY SURPLUS"

In today’s Weekend Australian, Wayne Swan blames the “American Tea Party” for his broken promise on returning the budget to surplus. Does this man have no shame.

According to our Treasurer, the reason his record of 5 budgets – 0 surpluses/5 deficits (-$174 billion and counting), it's not Labor’s waste and reckless spending………

It's not that fact that he is now spending a $100 billion more than the last Costello budget……….

It's not the fact that Border Protection costs have blown out $6 billion because Labor foolishly rolled back Howard’s successful policies for perceived political gain ……….

It's not the fact billions were wasted on the Pink Batts debacle .....

Its not the fact that billions have been wasted on useless “green energy” schemes, etc, etc, etc …………

It's not the fact that he and Ms. Gillard personally botched the mining tax ………..

It's not the fact that millions have been spent on advertising propaganda for the Carbon Tax and the NBN …………

No, according to our Treasurer- it is all the fault of the Tea Party in America.

Whom will he blame next year; the White Rabbit or the one arm man ?

Long after Wayne Swan has left parliament, children yet to be conceived will be paying higher taxes thanks to his 5 years of waste and reckless spending. And to think, Labor are seriously going into the next election asking people to give Wayne Swan another 3 years as Treasurer. God help us all.

100-year-old deathbed dreams of mathematician proved true
While on his death bed, the brilliant Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan cryptically wrote down functions he said came to him in dreams, with a hunch about how they behaved. Now 100 years later, researchers say they've proved he was right.
"We've solved the problems from his last mysterious letters. For people who work in this area of math, the problem has been open for 90 years," Emory University mathematician Ken Ono said. (more at the link)
