The Resurrection of Christ
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
The Resurrection of the Dead
But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

Also bereft of talent is the ALP government in Victoria. Dan Andrews release of eighty thousand documents related to Matthew Guy's time as planning minister exposed the identity details of a lawyer mother, and now Mrs Hemsworth, mum of the acting brothers. It is a smear job, as Mr Andrews has not attacked Guy on substance. It resembles Rudd on Heiner, and Lawrence on Easton. And it is getting worse.
ALP accuse Libs of trying to disband unions. Libs are trying to get unions to focus on the worker's needs. Workers die under ALP administration during a workplace tragedy. A crane in Box Hill has failed, and concrete fell onto workers below in a pit. It is an OHS fail. The supervising union may still profit from corruption unimpeded by workplace regulation.
Burt Reynolds died aged 82 after a distinguished career in acting. He said he had no regrets.
Before Nike decided to buy into the US mid term elections on behalf of US Democrats party, they were disliked by liberal left wing for an old policy of sweat shops based mainly in Asian nations. Thing is, those so called sweat shops were good for the communities, even if conditions were harsh. Because the communities had more money than they ordinarily could have achieved without the factories. Even so, Nike was accused of exploiting child labor and in not providing equivalent work conditions as would be experienced in US based factories.
Nike has a great name based on tradition. The Greek sounds better than the Roman Victoria which is more evocative of British monarchy than a US based company might aspire. The name was workshopped, after the company had originally been called Blue Ribbon Sports after their swoosh.
So Nike is a US based company ‘not producing things in America’ (they do, but that is irrelevant to critics), and that irritates unemployed blue colour American workers and those outraged on their behalf. Along with foreign factories came accusations of tax avoidance, because, who wants to maximise their tax?
Nike has tried to rehabilitate her image. with recycling of shoes and ‘working to protect the environment.’Some of the environmental campaigns are counterproductive, but then the environmental movement is generally more about image, than good sense.
Nike had backed Oscar Pistorius before he shot his girlfriend dead on Valentines Day. But now, by backing Colin Kaepernick with words about ‘sacrificing everything for what you believe’, Nike have messed up. NFL tanked when they took the knee to Trump’s patriotism. One may criticise Trump as once supporting Democrats before becoming a GOP President, but his long term advocacy has always been for the flag. And the US is very patriotic. Maybe Nike are considering rehabilitating Oscar?
Gabrielle Williams was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers, working with the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing and the Minister for Families and Children. Williams was given those titles when elected in 2014. It is difficult to find what value she has been to Dandenong, but clearly the ALP see her as the future. Williams proudly announces that energy is now so expensive under ALP that one company has been given funding to find ways to not use it. Bombardier Transport in Dandenong South has identified $51k a year savings it can make by not using power. That is how much other businesses are paying in power .. an employee every year can be 'saved', but also, only in special cases. An employee or two every year from most businesses cannot get work because of power costs. And the extra bills are not saving the planet. Dan Andrews had promised it might be a dollar a year. People of Dandenong are being lied to. Is your power bill better under ALP? How will you deal with a brown out? What if it lasts a week? Can you get to work if power is cut for a week? It won't happen in Dandenong, they may say, but then, people in Dandenong occasionally need satellite to connect to the internet.
I'm all for evangelical Christians and the message of salvation. I don't feel that Creationism encapsulates it. Instead of faith in God, Creationism seems to be a reaction to secular humanists seizing evolution and claiming evolution means what it doesn't, that God is irrelevant and does not exist. Evolution sheds light on the majesty of creation. Creationism is merely reflexive dogmatic insecurity.
For some, at the moment, the Sex Party has more credibility.
Disturbing allegations that European nations are bankrolling Al-Qaeda by paying for hostages. And then there is a small time criminal Islamic convert who allegedly told friends he was hiding from police before allegedly beheading cats and a local elderly lady in London. Meanwhile some radical converts holidaying in Iraq and Syria are asking for permission to go home. The glory days of beheadings being over, as a young man is crucified by IS to make a point when villagers ask IS to leave them alone. A mystery in Rozelle, a university student area in Sydney, very upmarket, where a recent migrant's shop has mysteriously blown up killing a young man, and a young mother and baby. It is still not known what caused the explosion.
Joan Rivers was, in her own way, a conservative. There is no single conservative opinion, unlike the left wing which argue indistinguishably from multiple points for a single end. ABC showed an advert for a program of theirs showing an apologist for people smuggling arguing with a radical who dislikes migrants. A conservative view might be that migration needs to be well managed, but the ABC sidestepped that and presented an unapposed view that people smuggling was fair and reasonable. A mother has betrayed her young daughters by making them pose for pornography she shared with their dance instructor, she had discovered was a fan. Her husband just wants her home. Hopefully the law is equipped to keep her in jail for many years to come. Meanwhile a 'man' is pleading not guilty to throwing a girl to her death off a balcony after meeting her on a social network and recording their tryst. He'll be able to work out in prison. One idiot who might not go to prison is a racist cop in Louisiana who disparaged black people. He has been sacked, but it is to be hoped he can be sued in civil court too.
A dog dressed up as a spider is entertaining millions on video. Another bizarre thing is an attempt to change the Australian Constitution to make it racist. The video does well, the attempt at constitutional change won't. And then there are rumours Clive Palmer is bankrupt, and misappropriated Chinese money to obscure that fact. All comments made in this editorial are sourced from posts which follow.
Rudd and the ALP are increasingly desperate. Rudd has released a youtube video thanking a polar bear and some muppets. Meanwhile Abbott is calmly working through various electorates. A mistake in a Liberal policy document was corrected (it had claimed the Libs were planning an internet filter). Abbott took responsibility. Meanwhile, Rudd is trying to threaten the voters with claims of cuts the Libs never announced. ALP have many outstanding un-costed policies. Liberal policies are all accounted for. The Age is alone in spruiking for ALP in paper editorials. Even their Fairfax Sister paper, the Sydney Morning Herald, acknowledges the Liberals deserve government.
An Islamic boy jailed for gang rape 13 years ago was paroled recently. The parole was revoked after he broke the conditions of his parole. He had been instructed not to meet with his brothers, or other gang members (a brotherhood). He had claimed when 16 he wasn't very bright and was easily led by others. He was apparently planning to live with them, and had met up with them while on day release. It isn't a political issue. But I note conservatives seem to govern well.
Obama is now claiming his minor attack on Syria will take out their army, airforce and navy. He keeps dithering .. will he attack? Why? What is he waiting for? What would he achieve? A symbolic hit?

1 Praise the LORD.
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD their God.
6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth,

he remains faithful forever.
7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it. Meanwhile, I am hostage to abysmal political leadership and hopeless journalists. My shopfront has opened on Facebook.

I am publishing a book called Bread of Life: January.
Bread of Life is a daily bible quote with a layman's understanding of the meaning. I give one quote for each day, and also a series of personal stories illustrating key concepts eg Who is God? What is a miracle? Why is there tragedy?
January is the first of the anticipated year-long work of thirteen books. One for each month and the whole year. It costs to publish. It (Kindle version) should retail at about $2US online, but the paperback version would cost more, according to production cost.If you have a heart for giving, I fundraise at gofund.me/27tkwuc (Gofundme finished the fund raiser, 2017)
