Continuing Capra’s Wonderful Life cuts, When Democrats Rule
I love history and greatly enjoy historical drama. But I’m very disappointed with modern historical drama, drama which is allegedly researched, but which disappointingly does not reflect the virtues of diligent research. A great writer, and father of such drama was Robert Graves whose fictional diary of Claudius provided great insight into events surrounding the time of Emperor Claudius of Rome. By way of contrast, White Queen series, written by Philippa Gregory, contains characters whose names are from the times, and whose actions are commensurate with actions taken from the times, but whose motivations are fictional story telling and highly misleading. In Gregory’s fiction, supernatural forces are effective. Characters have a depraved indifference to others and their suffering. Some are brave, some are cowardly, but they are consistently so, and there is no learning for the wise, but fools are brilliant at acting on self interest.
While Gregory has been criticised for her appalling revision of Ann Boleyn’s character, consistent with character assassination, she shows no improvement in her series exploring characters during the War of the Roses latter stages. They have the names, but they are not the people. And that is very disappointing. But the mischaracterisation is in line with modern left wing sensibilities. Strong women are feminists. Good men are foolish. Bad men are powerful. There is no diversity of culture, which we know existed.
It is like when Democrats rule in USA. A Wonderful Life, from 1946 illustrates that. We see how they plan and coerce and make it very hard for good people to simply live.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday accused Iran of attacking an Israeli-owned ship in the Gulf of Oman last week, a mysterious explosion that has further escalated regional tensions. Netanyahu told Israeli media: “It was indeed an act by Iran, that’s clear,” adding that the Islamic Republic was “the greatest enemy of Israel, I am determined to halt it. We are hitting it in the entire region.”
Earlier, Defense Minister Benny Gantz said he believed that Tehran was behind the explosion. On Sunday, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi called the attack a “reminder” from Iran.
Local media reported that security officials have concluded that the explosion was intended as a warning. The attackers “did not intend to sink” the vessel, one said, “but rather to tell Israel about their future intentions.” The country’s security establishment believes that more attacks will be attempted in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf.
Security officials believe that the IRGC’s naval force attacked the ship in order to avenge the assassination in a US drone strike of former Quds Force chief Qasem Soleimani, as well as the killing of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, in what is believed to have been an Israeli operation.
Meanwhile, Syrian state media overnight Sunday-Monday reported a series of alleged Israeli airstrikes near Damascus, saying air defense systems had intercepted most of the missiles. Israeli media reports suggested the purported strikes targeted Iranian positions in response to the ship attack.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the strike hit the area of Sayyida Zeinab south of Damascus, where Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah are known to operate.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz secretly met with King Abdullah II of Jordan, according to local media. Three months ago, the two reportedly convened in the Jordanian capital of Amman for security talks.
Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi has also met twice in recent months with his Jordanian counterpart.
“I have a continuous and ongoing connection with the Jordanian king and other senior Jordanian officials, and I know we can have great achievements,” Gantz was quoted as saying.
“I think Jordan is a great asset to Israel, and I think that our relationship with Jordan could be 1,000 times better,” he noted, adding, “I believe that it’s possible to do one or two civilian projects each year with Jordan, and within 10 years up to 20 or 30 projects.”

Russian soldiers are searching for legendary Israeli spy Eli Cohen’s remains, the London-based Arabic website Rai al-Youm reported. The search effort is allegedly being conducted as a part of the recent prisoner swap between Jerusalem and Damascus.
Cohen was an Israeli secret agent who, in the early sixties, gained the trust of top Syrian government officials and offered advice to its defense ministry. He was caught and executed in 1965. The whereabouts of his remains are unknown.
According to recent reports, the Russian military has been searching for Cohen’s body at the Yarmouk refugee camp near Damascus. In early February, local media reported on excavations at Yarmouk’s cemetery.
In a Moscow-brokered prisoner swap, Israel released two Syrian shepherds two weeks ago. In return, Damascus released an Israeli woman who had been captured after crossing the border.

Justice Minister Michael Keenan needs to know he serves the people. The ALP are awful, but so is this response from Keenan "“Mr Speaker,” he began, indicating Labor members, “I am not going to be cross-examined by him and neither will I be cross-examined by him, and in fact, I won’t be cross-examined by any of them …”"I expect Keenan to answer questions in question time. I expect him to humiliate the ALP with the truth about their corruption. If Keenan cannot answer questions appropriately, we need a Minister that can. We need our federal politicians to explain why Trump's USA is so much better off than Australia is. Maybe it is better if Keenan does not speak, if all he can offer is excuses.

Don't give up on hope. Dysfunctional school administrators are being railroaded by the politicians they prefer. Two Victorian school principals tried to exclude separate students recently. One student had plotted to poison another student. Another student had made threats with a knife. The principals were forced to back down. The intended victim of the poisoning had to leave school instead. ALP do not let schools become safe places for decent students. There is no excuse for not making special arrangements excluding violent students from the classroom. By keeping those students in what becomes dysfunctional classes, education becomes more expensive and less productive. The only life lessons learned by those bullied is to extinguish hope. I like work. I'm not able to talk about it at the moment, but I'm doing stuff and keeping busy. Work gives dignity and hope. It felt horrible being rejected by the Liberals and IPA. I still support them. I still have not found a Mathematics Teaching position anywhere in Australia. I apply for anywhere between 34 and 85 jobs a month. I have no impediment to teaching and better qualifications than most. I moved from NSW to Victoria to escape corruption within the NSW Dept of Education. They have covered up killing a schoolchild through neglect. Most of those responsible have since retired. Even the school is moving on. But that is the past. I moved on too. I just have not yet found paid work.

An Age writer thought it funny he publish that he wanted to blow torch Abbott's genitals. But we know he wasn't serious, as he would have needed to remove his tongue from Gillard.
Today, the Bolt Report was back and an hour long. Abbott. Costello. Henderson .. lots of compelling watching. Important questions need to be answered, like who will replace Shorten? Will Conroy be disciplined by an ALP leader? How bad will be the Abbott Government's good decisions? How much will the ABC get away with? Interesting contrast with Insiders, which I saw had David Marr and so I didn't watch it.

Water From the Rock
1 In the first month the whole Israelite community arrived at the Desert of Zin, and they stayed at Kadesh. There Miriam died and was buried.
2 Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron. 3 They quarreled with Moses and said, "If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the LORD! 4 Why did you bring the LORD's community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here? 5 Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!"

1 The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus 2 and saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed. 3 (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders. 4 When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.)

"Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out." - Song of Solomon 4:16
Anything is better than the dead calm of indifference. Our souls may wisely desire the north wind of trouble if that alone can be sanctified to the drawing forth of the perfume of our graces. So long as it cannot be said, "The Lord was not in the wind," we will not shrink from the most wintry blast that ever blew upon plants of grace. Did not the spouse in this verse humbly submit herself to the reproofs of her Beloved; only entreating him to send forth his grace in some form, and making no stipulation as to the peculiar manner in which it should come? Did she not, like ourselves, become so utterly weary of deadness and unholy calm that she sighed for any visitation which would brace her to action? Yet she desires the warm south wind of comfort, too, the smiles of divine love, the joy of the Redeemer's presence; these are often mightily effectual to arouse our sluggish life. She desires either one or the other, or both; so that she may but be able to delight her Beloved with the spices of her garden. She cannot endure to be unprofitable, nor can we. How cheering a thought that Jesus can find comfort in our poor feeble graces. Can it be? It seems far too good to be true. Well may we court trial or even death itself if we shall thereby be aided to make glad Immanuel's heart. O that our heart were crushed to atoms if only by such bruising our sweet Lord Jesus could be glorified. Graces unexercised are as sweet perfumes slumbering in the cups of the flowers: the wisdom of the great Husbandman overrules diverse and opposite causes to produce the one desired result, and makes both affliction and consolation draw forth the grateful odours of faith, love, patience, hope, resignation, joy, and the other fair flowers of the garden. May we know by sweet experience, what this means.

"He is precious." - 1 Peter 2:7
As all the rivers run into the sea, so all delights centre in our Beloved. The glances of his eyes outshine the sun: the beauties of his face are fairer than the choicest flowers: no fragrance is like the breath of his mouth. Gems of the mine, and pearls from the sea, are worthless things when measured by his preciousness. Peter tells us that Jesus is precious, but he did not and could not tell us how precious, nor could any of us compute the value of God's unspeakable gift. Words cannot set forth the preciousness of the Lord Jesus to his people, nor fully tell how essential he is to their satisfaction and happiness. Believer, have you not found in the midst of plenty a sore famine if your Lord has been absent? The sun was shining, but Christ had hidden himself, and all the world was black to you; or it was night, and since the bright and morning star was gone, no other star could yield you so much as a ray of light. What a howling wilderness is this world without our Lord! If once he hideth himself from us, withered are the flowers of our garden; our pleasant fruits decay; the birds suspend their songs, and a tempest overturns our hopes. All earth's candles cannot make daylight if the Sun of Righteousness be eclipsed. He is the soul of our soul, the light of our light, the life of our life. Dear reader, what wouldst thou do in the world without him, when thou wakest up and lookest forward to the day's battle? What wouldst thou do at night, when thou comest home jaded and weary, if there were no door of fellowship between thee and Christ? Blessed be his name, he will not suffer us to try our lot without him, for Jesus never forsakes his own. Yet, let the thought of what life would be without him enhance his preciousness.

I am a decent man and don't care for the abuse given me. I created a video raising awareness of anti police feeling among western communities. I chose the senseless killing of Nicola Cotton, a Louisiana policewoman who joined post Katrina, to highlight the issue. I did this in order to get an income after having been illegally blacklisted from work in NSW for being a whistleblower. I have not done anything wrong. Local council appointees refused to endorse my work, so I did it for free. Youtube's Adsence refused to allow me to profit from their marketing it.
