Peter Debnam MP
NSW Liberal Leader
NSW Liberal Leader Peter Debnam today officially opened the RSPCA Cat Legacy House at Somersby on the Central Coast.
"As a patron of the RSPCA, I'm delighted to be invited to officially open Cat Legacy House today," Mr Debnam said.
"Legacy House will offer peace of mind to a lot of cat owners on the Central Coast who are no longer able to look after their much-loved pets," he said.
"Legacy House will provide a safe place for cats to be cared for when their owners are no longer able to do so because they are in a nursing home, retirement village or simply too sick.
ReplyDelete"Nicknamed Catnip Cottage, the home has 28 cat rooms with access to free-roam areas.
"The outdoor areas are secure to protect native wildlife and the cats.
"All the medical needs of the cats are attended to and the animals have access to companionship as they would at home.
"The pet legacy and bequest program helps the RSPCA care for more than 39,000 sick, injured, abused and lost animals," he said.
Mr Debnam became a RSPCA patron earlier this year after Peter and Deborah adopted Rogan, a six-year-old kelpie.
In 2004/05, the RSPCA Central Coast Shelter looked after 447 cats and 1,530 dogs.
